But, challenges also stood in our way!

1) Time Management: We couldn't do 2 activities because of the time. Everyone had lots of questions, and we had to explain patiently, and that took away the time.

2) Paying attention to everyone: It was difficult to pay attention to everyone and make sure everyone was doing it perfectly.

3) Encouraging participation: Not everyone had the materials needed and some activities were difficult for them.  It was hard to encourage them to observe and reflect.

Seeing these challenges, it is surprising how you teachers manage everything! Hats off to you all. Thank you for everything!

This quote perfectly describes my condition after having taught the kids of PYP-4 yesterday. 

Our team, Allan, Rushil, Dylan, Yash and myself, worked relentlessly for a week to compile and produce the content we would be presenting to our “students”. In doing so we realised how hard our teachers must be working on the highly informative material they present to us every single day. 

Our team and I had to rehearse often to make sure we present our content properly. Our teachers make it seem so easy when they fluently and easily speak to us and teach us every day. 

In spite of all our preparation, we had a really hard time keeping our “students” disciplined, attentive and focused while we delivered our “teachings”. It was only then that we recognised how difficult it must be for our teachers to maintain discipline and order in the class, while remaining calm, especially in the virtual world. 

Being teachers for less than an hour opened our eyes to what patience, presence of mind, determination and balance it takes to be one. 

This experience has multiplied the respect I have for all my teachers.

The experience taught us :
Time Management-As we had kept this in mind we could display all our work
Team sharing-We ensured all members of the team had equal time so that all could cherish this experience.
Content: We kept the content based on the class we taught
Fire fighting-We had kept in mind that there could be network problems,it being an online session and yes our worst fears came true..some of our team members got logged off..but we continued the session with great teamwork.
Assigning responsibilities-Each one of us had responsibilities and we also had to remember our sequence.
Challenges-all students wanted to answer at once.We had to control the excitement.

We were very pleased when the kids told us they want to learn more from us. 

The Homeroom teacher, Sapna Maam also was very pleased and thanked our efforts that we taught the students
