         <description><![CDATA[<div>Instruct patient not to discontinue usage abruptly - it will cause rebound cardiac excitation causing tachycardia, worsened angina or ventricular dysrhythmias. Educate them when traveling to ensure they bring adequate supply and have a copy of their prescription.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Take baseline BP and HR prior to administration.<br>Also educate patients to take their HR and BP at home prior to taking this medication each day. If severely bradycardic (below 60) or hypotensive, hold dose and call your provider.<br><br></div><div>Diabetic patients specifically – educate them that this medication can block their usual early warning signs of hypoglycemia such as tachycardia, tremors, and perspiration; Other warning signs they can use can be hunger, fatigue, and loss of concentration. They’ll also need to be diligent about checking their glucose levels throughout the day.&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>Angina patients specifically – educate patients the importance of recording any angina incidences, the circumstance and severity.&nbsp;<br>GM</div>]]></description>
