Another parasitic example is the wasp that causes galls to the trees. The plant produces the galls in order to create a source of food and shelter in which its larvae can develop.

In the trophic pyramid food energy passes from one trophic level to the next along the food chain. Energy is lost in any form of heat . In the Forest of Chaidou producers(plants) give food to the primary consumers such as insects ,herbivore mammals (ex.squirrels, rabbits) and they become food for the secondary consumers(foxes, snakes) which are eaten by the tertiary consumers that eat only flesh (ex.hawks, bears etc.).
