GMU also requires you to take difficult courses in high school particularly in core academic courses.SAT or ACT are not required but you have the option to submit them with your application, or you may apply Score Optional if you meet the requirements (see below). You must have 2  letters of recommendation, one from your high school counselor and one from a teacher. An optional, but strongly encouraged Personal Statement of approximately 250 words explaining to the Office of Admissions why YOU want to go to college. Tell them about yourself and your experiences that have led to this decision. The Greeks have been a part of Mason since day one, starting with just two fraternities and one sorority.

They have multiple D1 sports teams like ,men and womens soccer, women and mens volleyball, baseball, basketball cross country, golf, swimming, diving, tennis, track & field, lacrosse, rowing, wrestling 

They offer all sorts of levels for these sports teams like.. Intramural sports, individual/dual sports, educational programs, and non-traditional intramural programming at both the recreational and competitive levels.

They also offer studying abroad. Their top 5 university majors are, criminal justice, psychology, biological sciences, health sciences and management sciences. GMU is known for their nursing and doctoral programs. However, they offer a wide variety of other majors.

This diversity is more than just students’ racial background. It is diversity in culture, economic status, interests, sexual orientation, and more. Every class you go to provides you an opportunity to learn something new from someone else in another prospective. Another unique thing about George Mason is it is right in town around many businesses. This is good because people can maintain jobs in order to pay for tuition and other expenses.
