The Korean War Monument was very captivating! We learned that it was considered
"The Forgotten War" since it was between World War ll and the Vietnam War. The war began when North Korea invaded South Korea .The United Nations, with the United States as the principal force, came to the aid of South Korea.China came to the aid of North Korea. An armistice was signed on July 27,1953, formally ended the War of Korea. North and South Korea remain seperate and occupy almost the same territory they had when the war began. I enjoyed learning new concepts and seeing monuments like this one! All of this would not be possible without the genorousity of The Immokalee Foundation and I am so thankful for everything!

We also got to see the tomb of Washington and his wife. This was the first day and right from the start I was having a blast!. Thank you Immokalee Foundation for this great oppurtunity!

Around 8:00 at night, the Lincoln Memorial opened so we can see the former president sit in his chair! Earlier in the day, the Lincoln Memorial was closed and we didn't get to see him. As we were walking towards the memorial, the entire atmosphere was cold and my socks were wet! We persevered and we got to see Abraham Lincoln! In the end, it was all worth it. My friend Abraham was super excited to see Abraham Lincoln and took photos of him like crazy! I'm glad the Immokalee Foundation can pay for this amazing trip so us kids can bond and possibly create new friendships.

On day 3, we saw some great museums! One was The National Archives, which allowed us to see the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and the Bill of Rights in person! It was cool to see the real documents. Another one I enjoyed was The National Air and Space museum, this museum had space crafts and airplane models inside the museum. It was interesting to read and learn about the development of flight over the last 100 years or so. So happy The Immokalee Foundation made this a reality for me!

One of the most inspiring and jaw-dropping monuments was the United States Marines Memorial. The monument was breath-taking. It's about World War 2 marines fighting at Iwo Jima against the Japanese. They were victorious and then after the victory, they planted the US flag on the hill. It's so inspirational due to the struggles they faced during the fighting. It was so fun and this was a once in a lifetime moment. I'm extremely fortunate to be a part of this trip and I can't begin to express the gratitude I have towards the Immokalee Foundation!

Today I experienced so many Monuments, one of them was the U.S Marine Memorial; it was a great experience. The Marine Corps Memorial is a statue of an event in World War 2. It was a big fight against the Japanese and America. The Marine Memorial is to honor and remember the brave men of the United States Marine Corps who have given their lives to their country. This memorial has made me feel proud and patriotic for my country. I'm so thankful to the Immokalee Foundation for this once-in-a lifetime opportunity!

Yesterday we went to the Lincoln memorial and it was great for a couple of reasons. One because this great president share the same first name. Also, he did a lot to keep America together during the Civil War. I think him sitting down on a large chair is a really iconic and it was cool to see it in person. Also the quote at the top of the monument inspired me. All of this would not be possible with out the Immokalee Foundation.

It was a once in a life time opportunity to experience something great like this first hand. One of my favorite things I enjoyed on this trip was the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. He is one of the great leaders I look up to. He came from a poor family and was judged by his skin color. He didnt let that get in his way and he spoke out about what he believed in. To see him stand tall and brave is so inspiring. It shows me that it doesnt matter where you come from, everyone can make a difference! . This lesson is possible because of the Immokalee Foundation and for that I am very thankful!

The Vietnam soldiers memorial was so breath taking. It honors U.S. service members of the armed forces who fought and died in the Vietnam War. The memorial consists of three separate parts : The Vietnam veterans memorial wall, completed first and the best-known part of the memorial; the Three Servicemen memorial, and the Vietnam Women's memorial. All of these memorials are important because of how political the Vietnam War was. Not all soldiers in the war were given the respect they deserve in that time period and the memorial ensures that they are honored forever. I would have not known any of this if it weren't for the Immokalee Foundation. Thank you for making this trip a dream come true.

We went to the Martin Luther King statue and it was interesting the way the statue was facing the Jefferson monument. Almost as if they were making eye contact! I saw quotes that really inspired me on how to truly help others. It allowed me to reflect on my life and how lucky I am to be able to come on this wonderful trip!
