The most significant takeaway from the last 5 chapters is power vs. honor. I think this is the most important takeaway, because they are two very unalike things, and being one over the other is very different. I think he might have both for Jonas because he has access to the memories, and he's honored quite a lot. However, this comes at a significant cost at him to experience a lot of pain. The memories grant him the power to know how the government is controlling him, and elsewhere, and everything else.

I think the most important takeaway was from chapter 12. In chapter 12 when Jonas went back into his first memory he looked down at the sled and then saw the color red for the first time in his life. I think when Jonas saw the color red it made him feel why can´t everyone in his community not see the color red he also thought that it was unfair that only he could see the color red and nobody else in his community could see it. I think this is the most significant because it talks about Jonas seeing color for the first time in his life and thinking that was the only color but there was a lot more.

I think the most important takeaway from these 5 chapters is how the community cannot see colors. It is important because it foreshadows how Jonas is probably going to take action against the community so everyone can see the colors. As is shown how Jonas wants to tell his family and friends about color but none of them have an understanding of what it is. The fact the community was able to "genetically modify humans" to not see colors gives Jonas an example of how controlling the community is.

He also saw that there were different races and not everyone's skin was the same color. There was also the concept of sadness and grieving when he saw the other elephant cry for the dead one. This shows him that animals were not always imaginary creatures and once lived. This shows him that life is not all sweet

The most significant takeaway in these past 5 chapters is how Jonas's emotions and feelings are starting to change. Jonas begins to get angry because Sameness removed what he thinks of as beautiful colors and choices. He also thinks that making choices and having colors brings out joy, and everything always being the same and so many rules makes him want all the things that were taken away due to Sameness. He believes that the people in power and people in the past made a mistake.

The most significant takeaway from these past 5 chapters is that Jonas learns about and can see all the colors now. This is significant because Jonas now sees the world differently. This is significant because now Jonas is different from everyone else and everyone else is keeping their distance from them.

A takeaway from the past 5 chapters is that Jonas is learning about life before Sameness. He now understands pain, joy, color, memories, and phenomenons before Sameness. This is making him frustrated when comparing his life with others and life before Sameness as he longs for everyone to be able to experience life before Sameness.

A takeaway that I had from chapters 9-13 is that Jonas is separating from the rest and becoming different than the others people in the community. He is now able to see different colors and act in a different way than all the other people. It would be hard to explain what Jonas is capable of since no one else has every experienced it before.

The most significant takeaway from chapters 9-13 is how the Giver's and the Receiver's life are different from other people in the community. Also how big of jobs the Giver and the Receivers are. I don't think was chosen because of anything but his pale eyes.

I think the most significant takeaway is how Jonas is finally understanding how his community isn't perfect. The citizens don't have a choice and they don't get to see things like colors, and animals.

In my opinion, I think the biggest take away from the past 5 chapters is that how Jonas is beginning to understand how life is under the government. They have taken away all the basic fundamentals of life, such as color, controlling emotions, climate control, etc.

This is significant, because I infer later on the book Jonas will begin to think about running away. Maybe The Giver may support him and encourage him to start a new life without the government's controlling aspects.

The best takeaway of these last five chapters are how the giver and receivers lives are more exotic then other people with assignments. The receiver (Jonas) is not aloud to talk about his experience with the giver. He also has to carry more burdens and memories the other people with assignments.
