this group is the only connection i have with sai center people who want to talk about social issues. in sai center lately, i feel like the priorities are focused on other things rooted in capitalism (lasa, spiritual bypassing, ignoring justice related issues). and so, to have a group that talks about social justice through a spiritual lens means the world

I am deeply grateful for a space to grapple with the synergies and tensions between spirituality and social justice, in a community of people I so deeply admire and learned from endlessly

We started this group due to the tragic death of George Floyd & we sought to view social justice issues thru the lens of Sathya Sai. It was an amazing experience. I rarely missed the meetings. But I think some had busy schedules, others may have had distractions. But some kind of way stay aware & active about what's going on in the real world.

I didn't really know what I signed up for when I began attending these calls. I wasn't super into social justice, but I can safely say that that has changed. In this group, I have found community, friendships, guidance and wisdom. Incredibly grateful to all of you!

A group that in a sense is a "freethinking" group, rooted in Sai teachings, but also seeing the lack of a creative and realistic approach to making the Sai organization in the US and outside of India approachable and welcoming. Also a group that oddly enough is suffering from a greater degree of compassion as compared to the mainstream Sai organization, where compassion is somewhat muted and takes a back seat.
