News articles are generally structured in order, like inverted pyramid. This means that the first or introductory paragraph (also called ‘the lead’) gives the most important facts (who, what, when, and where). The following paragraphs present the details of the event or issue (the how’s and whys), and they are presented in order of how important they are.
A news article should always try to be objective and neutral in its style and language. It is therefore important that the article presents many different opinions and perspectives of the event, incident, or issue under discussion.
