New English Primer was the first textbook between 1687 and 1690 by him.


From 1690 to 1695, Harris continued his business as usual but with the partnership of John Allen. Then in 1692, he was tasked to an official assignment with printing The Acts and Laws of Massachusetts in 1692 (Mindich). Apart from that, Harris was also active in community service, supporting homeless shelters and orphanages.


In 1695, he returned to England and started a series of short-lived newspapers before publishing the London Post from 1699 to 1706. He continued selling his paper, books, and almanacs from his printing shop and store. Benjamin Harris' death and location are a mystery, leaving only his two sons.

Harris then was convicted for going against the succession.

1686 - Based on history, he established a successful bookstore and London coffee House in Boston where he provided both men and women (which was unusual at the time) access to foreign newspapers and books.

The article known as the 'Tryal of Benjamin Harris Upon An Information Brought Against Him..' which describes the trial and the testimony against him. An evidence provided by a witness whom was a bookseller at the time, stated that the pamphlet was sold in other book stores prior to being sold in their own. And that upon knowing that the pamphlet contained controversial content with regards to the duke's succession, they immediately halted the sale.
