In week 5, we started our usrah with the recitation of Surah Nuh. After that, we interpret Surah Nuh verses 10-16. In these verses, Allah tells us that. These verses show that Prophet Nuh invited his people to seek forgiveness from Allah, promising that it would bring blessings like rain, wealth, and children. He reminded them of Allah’s great power and signs in creation, like the sky, sun, and moon, to help them believe. The message is that seeking forgiveness and reflecting on Allah’s creation brings mercy and guidance.

For the Hadith session, this week Sr Mai shared with us about hadith 16 from Haith 40 Imam Nawawi. This hadith teaches that we should never hurt, insult, or harm others, whether with our words or actions. A true Muslim is someone whom others feel safe from. It reminds us that good character, kindness, and respect for others are key parts of our faith. Being a good Muslim means not just praying and fasting, but also treating people well.

In week 6, we started our usrah with recitation of surah Al-Hujarat. After that, as usual we interpret the surah where in this surah Allah teaches essential principles for building a strong, respectful, and harmonious Muslim community. It emphasizes the importance of good manners, respect for others, avoiding suspicion and gossip, and resolving conflicts peacefully. The Surah also highlights the equality of all human beings regardless of race or tribe, reminding us that the most honored in the sight of Allah are those who are most righteous. Ultimately, it calls for unity, mutual respect, and sincere faith as the foundation of a healthy society.

During this week, Hadith choosen is Hadith 32 from Hadith 40 Imam Nawawi . This hadith emphasizes the importance of selflessness and empathy in Islam. True faith is reflected in how much a person cares about the well-being and happiness of others, desiring for them what they desire for themselves. It encourages Muslims to develop a spirit of love, kindness, and fairness toward others, strengthening community bonds and promoting harmony.

In our Last week, we made a little bit different, where this time around we had a potluck and we started our day by seeing the nature in Mahallah Hafsa. After that, we straight away go to Surau and start our usrah there with the presentation of poster. The poster of our group will be shown in poster section. Basically, our group choose a topic of the importance of obidience to parents in Islam.

Then, after all of the group has present their poster, we prayed for maghrib and continue with looking at surah al-Baqarah verses 29-30. This verses teaches us Allah created everything on Earth for humans to use responsibly and made humans His representatives (Khalifah) on Earth. Allah taught humans the names of all things, giving them knowledge and the ability to manage creation wisely. However, this responsibility also means humans must act justly and care for the world.

The verses remind us of the special role and trust given to humanity and the importance of using knowledge and power for good.

1.BELIEF IN ALLAH 

Belief in Allah means trusting that He is the one true God, the Creator of everything, and the one who takes care of us. 

Believing in Allah means having faith in: 

1. His existence 

2. His Lordship (Ruboobiyyah) 

3. His names and attributes 

4. His right to worship (Uloohiyyah). 

These four parts help us understand who Allah is and how we should live our lives. When we truly believe in Him, we trust Him, obey Him, and turn to Him in all situations. This belief strengthens our hearts and guides our actions every day.

2.BELIEF IN ANGELS

Belief in angels means knowing that they are special beings created by Allah who follow His commands and help carry out His will.

Angels are special beings created by Allah from light. They always obey Allah and never get tired or make mistakes. Some of their main functions include:

1. Jibril (Gabriel) – delivers Allah’s messages to the prophets.

2. Mikail (Michael) – controls rain, weather, and provides sustenance.

3. Israfil – will blow the trumpet on the Day of Judgment.

4. Malik – guards Hell.

5. Munkar and Nakir – question the dead in the grave.

6. Raqib and Atid – record our good and bad deeds.

3.BELIEF IN ALLAH'S BOOK

Belief in Allah’s books means accepting that Allah sent down holy books like the Qur'an to guide us to live good and truthful lives. These beliefs help us stay connected to Allah and live in a way that pleases Him.

Types of Allah’s Books:

1. Tawrah (Torah) – Given to Prophet Musa (Moses).

2. Zabur (Psalms) – Given to Prophet Dawud (David).

3. Injil (Gospel) – Given to Prophet Isa (Jesus).

4. Qur'an – Given to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH); this is the final and complete book that guides all of humanity.

We did some activity where Sr. Mai asks us to bring an envelope filled with any quotes or motivation so that we can give to each other. Surprisingly, I got the envelope from Sr.Mai, and I was so happy and touched by all the words.

1.BELIEF IN RASUL

Belief in Rasul (Prophets) is a fundamental part of faith in Islam, as prophets are the messengers chosen by Allah to guide humanity with His revelations. Accepting and following their teachings ensures a person stays on the right path.

What are the differences between Rasul and Nabi?

• All Rasul are Nabi, but not all Nabi are Rasul.

• Rasul has the special duty of delivering a new divine message or scripture, while Nabi are prophets who continue to guide based on previous messages.

2.BELIEF IN QIYAMAH

Belief in Qiyamah is one of the core pillars of faith in Islam. It is the belief that on a certain day, Allah will resurrect all humans from their graves for judgment. Everyone will be held accountable for their deeds, and based on their actions, they will be rewarded with Paradise or punished in Hell.

This belief encourages Muslims to live righteously, be mindful of their actions, and prepare for the eternal life after death.

3.BELIEF IN QADA' AND QADAR

Belief in Qada and Qadar means accepting that everything happens according to Allah’s divine will and knowledge. It teaches Muslims to trust in Allah’s wisdom, be patient during hardships, and remain hopeful during good times, knowing that life’s events are part of a greater plan.

Differences between Qada' and Qadar.

• Qadar is Allah’s pre-creation knowledge and measurement of all things.

• Qada is the actual implementation or happening of those things in the real world.

Both concepts together affirm that nothing occurs without Allah’s knowledge and permission, emphasizing His complete control over the universe.

1.IHSAN

Ihsan means doing something in the best and most beautiful way. In Islam, it means worshipping Allah as if you see Him, and even if you don’t see Him, knowing that He is always watching you. It’s about being sincere, excellent, and full of kindness in everything you do.

The 3 Levels of Faith

• Islam: Outer practice and submission

• Iman: Inner belief and conviction

• Ihsan: Perfect sincerity and excellence in worship and behavior

HADITH 17 ( HADITH 40 IMAM NAWAWI)

This hadith highlights the importance of intention in all actions. It teaches that the value and reward of any deed depend entirely on the intention behind it. Even the same action can have different outcomes based on what motivated it. Therefore, sincerity in worship and good deeds is essential for acceptance by Allah. It reminds believers to constantly check their intentions and purify them for the sake of Allah alone.

2.ADAB TOWARD NEIGHBOUR AND SOCIETY

Good manners and respect towards neighbours are very important in Islam. Treating neighbours kindly, helping them, and avoiding harm strengthens community ties and brings blessings. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that being good to neighbours is part of faith and closeness to Allah. Therefore, Muslims should always be considerate, caring, and supportive to their neighbours, creating a peaceful and friendly environment.

For this week, we have to draw a picture that illustrates Adab toward anything, such as towards parents, neighbours or adab of eating or any else. At the end of the session, we will choose the top 3 that have a beautiful drawing and they will get a reward from Sr. Mai.

APPRECIATION OF NATURE AND THE ENVIRONMENT

Appreciating nature and the environment means recognizing the beauty and blessings of Allah’s creation. It teaches us to respect and protect the natural world because it sustains life and provides for our needs. Islam encourages us to be responsible caretakers of the Earth by avoiding harm, wasting resources, and maintaining balance. By valuing nature, we show gratitude to Allah and help create a healthy and sustainable environment for ourselves and future generations.

SURAH AL-AHZAB VERSES 72

The verse highlights the special status and burden of humans they have accepted the responsibility to obey Allah’s commands, to be His representatives on Earth, and to live according to His guidance. It serves as a reminder to take this trust seriously and fulfill our duties.

At the end of the class, we ate together as I was so happy to see there was a lot of food that everyone brought. Then Sr.Mai and some of the students gave their last speech, and I still did not believe that we were already at the end of the usrah class. I hope that everyone will take care of themselves and enjoy every moment in IIUM, and also I hope that we will still contact and remember each other even if we are not in the same class anymore. Last but not least, we end our class with a gift exchange session. I am so happy as I got something that is very cute and I'm definitely gonna use it forever. Then, by that, our usrah class for this semester ends.
