Next, I would set up an emergency meeting with all other team members, to discuss how many of them have the know-how to complete the task that was to be done by the missing team member and get at approximate on how long it would take to complete (with Manager approvals, offer overtime pay if necessary). If this is within the 2 day deadline, I will work with the team to make sure the last task is completed on time. If not, then we would contact the client and ask for an extension on the delivery date and offer some kind of incentive or discount to make sure they continue to stay in business with us.

(John) Liam Gallagher
First of all, write your instructor often and early. Make sure that they know who you are, that you're a contentious and involved student, and that you're willing to cooperate. Two days before a due date is really late in the timeline of a critical deadline to be communicating your issues with a work process, but that's the given scenario. In this circumstance you should write to your instructor with as full and concise of an account as you're able and describe the issue succinctly explaining which areas of the project were assigned to whom and what remains uncovered by the absence of your team mate, describing the measures you took to try to head off this issue and the timeline it took place over. Ask for advice on how to proceed and request that an accommodation be made for your group on as your team is down a person.
While it's personally frustrating that not everyone is doing an equal amount of work it's important to remember that there's a wide range of reasons why a classmate might not be able to complete their work, and short of taking on the responsibility of managing their life for them there's not a lot you can do to change their behaviour, least of all in two days. Your instructor will be able to make adjustments to the workload or the grading scheme that takes into account your unresponsive teammate as dealing with ghosts is not part of the assessment criteria for the assignment.
The issue may seem large to you because it's happening to your life right now, but for your instructor who has been around the block a few times this is a routine occurrence. They'll understand that this situation is neither your fault nor what you had hoped for. Take the unexpected obstacles in stride and don't forget that you're in school to try your hardest and learn what you can, not to pick fights with strangers; this too is a test.

Lorena Silva de Oliveira
Student ID 163421191

Firstly, to avoid this kind of problem, in the beginning of the project, I would have set clear expectations and explained the importance of every team member participation and commitment to the project.
In this situation, a team member work is missing, and this could negatively affect other teammates who delivered a great job in time. Seeing that, it would be wise to appeal to a third party. There are two options:
1- Contacting someone with more power than me, explain the situation and ask for help
2- Talk to team members about it, that way everyone can discuss the best solution

In this situation, contacting someone more powerful and ask for help might not be well seen, given the fact that the deadline of the project is too close, and the person may perceive this an error of communication that could be solved way earlier.
Hence, I would talk to my team members and propose a solution: to divide the absent team member's work into parts and split it between team members. That way, every team member contributes by researching a little bit about the missing topic. I would work hard researching about the missing part too. I would thank my teammates for their support and incredible performance.
Lastly, after delivering the project, I would explain the situation to the professor/boss, so he/she can evaluate team members fairly.

Group Communication - Conflict Resolution

Poor team work can drain your energy and can cause major problems in any team. When team members do not co-operate and there is a tight deadline, it must be met. It must be met so that the team does not lose marks. If the entire team has been emailed about the assignment and only one group member responded it is best to co-operate with that individual to get the work done. Uncooperating team will mar other student work, so team members will have to work alone to get their credits.

Kevin Anness

The best solution to this issue is to finish the project as needed and then address the issue with a teacher immediately after submission. This solution is the best for multiple reasons. Firstly, the project does not have a delayed submission, which is ideal. Secondly, it is still mentioned to a teacher that one of the members did not contribute to the project's success. This is important because apparently, the missing person doesn't believe you are in a position of authority. However, giving the message to someone with authority, the teacher, more can potentially be done.

If he didn't show up I will arrange an emergency meeting with the team and I will try to find out someone from the team who knows to do the work of the missing person. I will ask how long will it take the work. I will help him to get the work done in time and will pay him for overtime.

Differing goals for the work product can create conflicts. People may disagree about the best outcome, have differing understandings of what those outcomes should be, or have contradictory plans for how to accomplish those goals. In all cases team members who are all doing their best can come into conflict.
Differing educational background, technical training, or work experience can inform contrasting ideas about the means and ways that work is to b accomplished. For example contrasting working in a highly regulated industry like healthcare versus a venture capital funded tech start up. Professionals who on paper have the same job in each space can have very different work practices.
People's perception of conflict can create conflict. For some conflict is a valued creative process where it's understood that work conflicts have no bearing on personal feelings, while for others conflict is seen as something that's disruptive to team cohesion and unity. The value of either view depends on the workplace and the people involved. Conflict is more valuable if you're on a design team than it is if you're an operator on a factory production line.

Conflict can look very different depending on the workplace and isn't always negative. If two people who have mutual respect and social skills are in conflict about which proposal is best conflict can look like the team flourishing and delivering innovative solutions.
In other workplaces that depend heavily on process such as working in supply chain or logistics conflict is not as productive as teams rely on each team member performing their role in a timely an accurate manner. Here conflict can manifest in the work product such as the decrease of efficiency or errors in the work, or socially as the breakdown of relationships between and within teams.
Conflict can also be considered on a systemic level where by larger challenges emerge from work systems such climate change being driven by an over use of trucking freight which does not pay to maintain the infrastructure it uses resulting in low tax incomes for governments who are actually charged with the mandate of preventing the oncoming environmental catastrophe.
