Technology Strategy 1

What I believe to be the main topic of the reading is to show us how assistive technology has been shaped over the years and what has caused it to change. The laws that we have learned about through out our education career play significant roles in the way that we see AT today. Time periods have also shaped the way that the laws (i.e. IDEA, PL-94-142, ADA, etc) have been changed based on how the education field has changed and progressed. The way that we now understand more and more about the way that people see things and learn differently causes us to reevaluate the way that we teach and the UDL design is a great model for us to base that off of. Reaching such a wide range of students in todays world is such a challenge but by using the UDL design and AT, it makes this possible. I would like my fellow classmates to share with me what they believe has been the most important part of the revision of IDEA throughout the years and why.
