         <title>3.) Food Borne Bacteria and the Symptoms</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Viral food borne germs include the viruses <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/index.htm">Hepatitis</a>, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis/hav/index.htm">Hepatitis A</a>, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/norovirus/">Norovirus</a>, <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/rotavirus/index.html">Rotavirus</a>, and <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/norovirus/">Viral gastroenteritis</a>. Hepatitis is the inflammation of the liver, and can be treated with antiviral medication. Hepatitis A's symptoms are fever, fatigue, nausea, abdominal pain, and loss of appetite. Hepatitis A's symptoms go away within 1-2 months. Norovirus, A.K.A. the "Winter Vomiting Bug" causes upset stomach. Some people can also experience fever, stomach cramps, headache, or aching limbs. This goes away within 2-3 days after being infected. Rotavirus symptoms include fever and vomiting, with 3-7 days of watery diarrhea. Some people may also cause abdominal pain. A re-hydration fluid is recommended for children. Lastly, Viral gastroenteritis is basically a stomach flu. Diarrhea, cramps, nausea, vomiting, and low-grade fever are some symptoms. To get better, rest and stay hydrated.</div>]]></description>

         <title>4.) Food-borne Outbreaks</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the year 2015, there were 897 food-borne outbreaks in the United States. There were 15,018 illnesses according to the CDC. There has also been 923 people hospitalized and 14 people died. In Connecticut, there was 25 outbreaks, 1,299 illnesses, 236 people hospitalized, and 7 deaths. In 2017, 2 food-borne outbreaks were reported. One of the products was Vulto Creamery Soft Raw Milk Cheese which caused Listeria monocytogenes, and the other product was I.M. Healthy SoyNut Butterwhich caused e-coli. It doesn't say where these outbreaks happened, but I'm assuming it happened in the United States.</div>]]></description>
