  • When a child does not get the correct amount of nutrients and calories, it can affect their growing. You need a certain amount of nutrients, calories, vitamins, etc. in order to grow at a healthy rate. 
  • Children get less of the essentials that are needed for life because they do not have enough money to provide and that affects how the child develops.
  • Lead to poor diets.
Poverty 
  • Experiencing poverty in adolescents have a higher chance of having a shorter life expectancy just because they will not develop at a healthy rate because they cannot buy the essentials.
  • Increases the likelihood of poor health
  • Chronic health conditions ex. asthma
