"Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated" I think FDR was trying to fix the country at the start of the Great Depression and wants the people to feel calm and hopeful for the future. He wants everyone to love each other in order for the country to be repaired.

Roosevelt declared a notional bank holiday which closed all banks. In just 4 days, he helped draft the Emergency Banking Relief act, which allowed solvent banks to open up under Gov. supervision, and allowed stocks to be purchased in troubled banks. Also gave the president power over the Federal Reserve System.

Roosevelt signed this to try and saved the nation from the Great Depression by inspiring people to work and make money for industries

- Made it so workers can make a living wage. Made it easier for people to stay working and have a family.

- With this act some people could still be paid less than minimum wage in certain jobs.
