Today, I am going to introduce a special attraction which is called Terracotta Warriors. The purpose of terracotta warriors is to protect Qin Shi Huang in his after life

The figures vary in height according to their rank, the tallest being the generals. The figures include warriors, chariots and horses. It is speculated that many buried treasures and sacrificial objects had accompanied the emperor in his after life. The most important thing is the terracotta figures are life-sized, this causes many people thinking that those figures were made with real people inside. Also, they vary in height, uniform, and hairstyle in accordance with rank. The most impressive thing to me is that the details they have. Most of them originally held real weapons such as spears, swords or crossbows. At the same time, the figures were also painted with bright pigments variously colored pink, red, green, blue, black……

Heads, arms, legs and torsos were created separately and then assembled by luting the pieces together. The faces were created using molds, and at least ten face molds may have been used.

From these details, we can understand how careful when they work and how much time they used to make these figures

Other special thing about xi’an :

I would also like to talk about the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda. This is a well-known Buddhist pagoda located in xi’an, shaanxi Province, China. The original pagoda stood at five stories tall. However, due to multiple earthquakes and reconstructions, the pagoda now has seven stories. The structure is made of brick and stone and follows traditional Chinese architectural style, featuring tiers with upturned eaves. Besides of the architecture, I think the religious significance is more important. As a significant Buddhist landmark, the Giant Wild Goose Pagoda played a crucial role in the translation of Buddhist scriptures from Sanskrit to Chinese . The pagoda and its surrounding complex are a testament to the culture Al exchange between China and India. It also reflects the spread of Buddhism in china during ancient significance of xi’an along the Silk Road . The Giant Wild Goose Pagoda stands as both a historical treasure and an enduring symbols of xi’an’s rich cultural heritage, drawing visitors from around the world to explore its legacy and significance

According to legend, the Yellow Crane Tower was originally built by Sun Quan in Wuchang in 223 AD as a military building. The current Yellow Crane Tower was rebuilt in 1981 and offers a wide view overlooking the Yangtze River. Located in Wuchang District, Wuhan City, it is one of the three most famous buildings in China, as famous as the Yueyang Tower in Hunan and the Tengwang Pavilion in Jiangxi. The Yellow Crane Tower was once a gathering place for celebrities and poets, and an estimated 300 poems were written about it during the Qing Dynasty. The poems of Cui Hao, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, made the Yellow Crane Tower famous throughout the country.

One of the important landmarks in Wuhan is the Yangtze River Bridge, built in 1957, it is a double-decker railway-highway bridge that connects the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and the China Railway. The bridge is 1670 meters long, with a 4-lane highway on the upper level and a double-track railway on the lower level. The design of the bridge began in 1910 and construction started in 1955. It was built with the assistance of Soviet consultants and represents the combination of Chinese and Soviet architectural styles. There are two other bridges in Wuhan: the Second Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge in 1995 and the Baishazhou Bridge in 2000. There is an elevator on the top floor of the bridge, overlooking the Yangtze River.

When the first line opened in Nanjing in 2005, it was the 9th metro system in China. Nanjing built its metro at an incredible speed. Today, Nanjing has the fifth largest metro system in China, with 376 kilometers (234 miles), 10 different lines, and 159 stations. Unique in China, the city’s metro system includes an extensive suburban network. In fact, out of the existing 10 lines, five serve Nanjing’s suburbs. Stations in these lines are a bit further away from each other, and trains are shorter. Additionally, Nanjing boasts two modern tram lines: Hexi Tram, west of the city center, and Qilin Tram, east of the city center.

Dongpo pork is a very popular dish among tourists and locals. The creation of the dish is related to a famous poet, Su Dongpo, so the dish was named after him.

The secret to this aromatic dish is time. Slow cooking for several hours not only allows the pork belly to absorb the wine and soy sauce, but also breaks down the fatty meat, produces a 'melt-in-your-mouth' texture. It also reduces the greasiness of the fat and leaves a deep, vibrant chocolate brown coating. The meat is so tender that you can simply nudge it with a pair of chopsticks and it falls apart. It is often paired with a side of ginger and broccoli to offset its fattiness. You should try it when you come to Hangzhou.

First, the cook would starve a grass carp for two to three days before cooking it, making sure that there is no excrement left in its stomach. This also helps to eradicate the fishy odour. The chefs must pay attention to details like the fish size and heat control to make the meat tastes fresh and tender. The north of the traditional center is the area around Confucius Temple and the Qinhuai River, a tributary of the Yangtze River. Wonderful old temples and gardens populate the lovely pedestrian area, including the beautiful Jiangnan Examination Hall and the splendid Zhan Garden.
