It promoted equality amongst all stereotypes. This improved the self-esteem of most Filipinos, lessened the inferiority of the poor and changed the way of some richer social classes in thinking that they were better or superior than others. The women were also treated equally during the Commonwealth through the Suffrage Act.  Women were acknowledged of their right to vote as part of our country. This economic proposition gave them much more of a role and a major part in society rather than before when they were belittled by men and refused to be given their right of expression.  In conclusion, the Commonwealth gave the Filipinos a glimpse of independence. It gave them what they deserved. It helped them increase their self-value, more so becoming independent was one of their goals. The achievement of financial, emotional, social, career and personal independence gave them a sense of accomplishment that will eventually change how they rate one another and how they view a person.
