As far as we know, the conspiracy is real and forcing its way to destroy the government... or at least, that's what O'Brien told Winston, but the question is: Is that so? Honestly, I think the Brotherhood is real, in the sense of an organized opposition clan. This truth is shown by a book Winston receives from O"Brien a couple of days after their first meeting. The book exposes the point of view with which its author, Emmanuel Goldstein, sees the government, and how it has lay to its citizens. This book proves the existence of the Brotherhood as a whole, but most importantly of its leader.
Governments, throughout history , have always fought for power. Power to rule over the people, their rights and their property. For example, in India during the early 1900's, protestants like Mahatma Ghandi and Sarajini Naidu, would refuse to follow British high taxations and discrimination as a way to show opposition. This movements led to the Independence of India from Britain. Curiously, it relates to 1984, because control over the people is the government's main concern in both cases. Once a system controls your thoughts and fears, it is very hard to overcome them. Unless, of course, conspiracy occurs to open people's eyes. Naturally, conspiracy has always existed. However, it only makes a change when it is strong enough to protest and for others to join it.

When Winston met with O’Brien he asked if the Brotherhood was real or if it was only an invention of the Thought Police. O’Brien tells him that it does exist, but it is not actually what he imagines. It requires keeping everything in secret and no one could help each other and each person could only have 3-4 contacts. I think that the Brotherhood does exist and it is a “clan” against the government. I think if more people join this group, it will become thriving and they will defeat BB. “You are prepared to cheat, to forge, to blackmail, to corrupt the minds of the children… to do anything which is likely to cause demoralization and weaken the power of the Party?” People from this conspiracy are looking for more people who are willing to do anything in order to reach their goal, stop BB. If they get people who agree with all the conditions, then the conspiracy will be thriving. As we know, a lot of people want power. For example, in a country the government (the president) wants to have more power and control over people and they look for ways to gain this. Sometimes the government establishes laws (for their benefit) which the citizens disagree with them. Citizens look for ways to stop the government's decisions. Here in Honduras, when people disagree with a government’s decision they protest in the streets and they for ways to make the government change or do something with what they established.

When Winston finally meets with O'Brien he wants to know if the Brotherhood exists or if it is just an invention. As fas as we know, the conspiracy is real, but I still have my doubts about it. O'Brien tells them that it is real, but that´s about all he tells them. He can't say haw many they are, who they are or how they will take Big Brother Down. I think the Bortherhood exists, but I want to see if it is strong enough to make any kind of impact against the government. The rebellion could also be another way to control the people, make them believe they are fighting against the government but instead beworking for them. I have doubts about it, but I hope the rebellion is all it says it is, and it keeps thriving.¨You are prepared to cheat, to forge, to blackmail, to corrupt the minds of children, to distribute habit-forming drugs, to encourage prostitution, to disseminate venereal diseases – to do anything which is likely to cause demoralization and weaken the power of the Party?" This quote shows how much they have to be prepared to do for the Brotherhood, even without asking questions. A conspiracy similar that exists today, is the one of the Illuminati. They are similar because they both described a world where underground secret brotherhoods trying to control the government exist.

But I think that this is real, this an be transformed in a strong group with a lot of people which could beat Big Brother. A group of people with the same thoughts and with the same goal. A clan to beat the government and those who have the power and control over people. Rebelling against the government can be an act of this. But, there is the other part of the thing, what if they are just acting? what if brotherhood doesn't exist for real and they are only pretending to rebel against the government? They would be in the governments side.

Use a quote from your chapter to back your opinion. What conspiracies exist today that you can think that relate to this in our own government or in our past? Are they similar or different? How do our governments differ or relate? Expound on why or why not.

I think that the conspiracy is real in the point of view O Brien said it is. But I do not believe on it because I feel that there are not enough things to tell us that they do exist and that brotherhood is real, its just O' Brien's opinion and words the ones that we have. I think that it is possible to rebel but I think that that is something really dangerous and not healthy at all. it might be good because they will have the opportunity of getting a better life but what if it doesn't work out? would that be a catastrophe on Oceania ? things might get worst.‘"And in the meantime, is there anything that you wish to say before you leave? Any message? Any question?.’" When O Brien said that to Winston it seemed to me that something bad was going to happen. I can only think of Mel Zelaya here in Honduras, when people didn't agree with his actions and opinions and did everything until they got him out of government. we differ because we are not being controlled as in oceania. yes there is a Democratic president but we live our lifes we have our own hours of work we decide upon ourselves different from Oceania.

I don't believe the brotherhood is real, instead I believe the brotherhood is a organization made up by the party. They make it seem as if it where real because that is their way of finding people who commit thought crime. There is no way the government wouldn't find out about something so big like the brother hood since they practically monitor every step a person gives. "The members of the brother hood have no way of recognizing one another and it is impossible for any one member to be aware of the identity of more than a few other". This quote makes me think about how can an organization exist if not even its own members know each other. An example of this type of conspiracy in the real world are the Illuminati because it is supposed to be an organization that controls the government and the world.

I think that the conspiracy of the Brotherhood being created by the Thought Police is true. I believe that there is not such thing as the "Brotherhood". In this chapter we can clearly see that O'Brien is a member of the inner party. "The members of the Brotherhood have no way of recognizing one another, and it is impossible for any one member to be aware of the identity of more than a few others. Goldstein himself, if he fell into the hands of the Thought Police, could not give them a complete list of members, or any information that would lead them to a complete list. No such list exists. The Brotherhood cannot be wiped out because it is not an organization in the ordinary sense." This quote represents to me the many ways that O'Brien is washing Winston's brain. How can you not know the people inside an "organization"? By reading this chapter, I am starting to believe that O'Brien is only gaining Winston's trust and he is going to betray him. He is making Winston and Julia believe that he can help them and start a revolution against Big Brother. Come on, 'Big Brother'? 'Brotherhood'? they are definitely related to each other. There are a lot of conspiracies these days. They may not be the same or whatever but for example, in the U.S, in election year, many people thought that Donald Trump was acting childish and disgusting because he made a deal with Hillary. Supposedly, they both agreed that Hillary should be president and he was only running to make her win but then, he changed his mind and turned on her. That was a crazy conspiracy theory.

Ps: I am starting to find very boring, annoying, and very routine-like writing these padlets. I am tired of them. Just throwing some honesty in here.

The Brotherhood maybe is an organization made by the government to know ehat people wants to rebel against them. O’Brien says that not even the people of the Brotherhood know their partners. Things are getting more and more interesting, because Sinston is trusting someone that maybe will say the government all the plan against them. Winston needs help but is really difficult because the government has to much power that always have people to their service. O’Brien is clearly lying to Winston, Winston is gonna pay with his life. 😞💔❤️

He wants to wash Winston's brain and he wasn't to show him that he is one member of the brotherhood.I is just a simply invention of the thought police. This is non real and at the same time it is a lie to all the people that wants to rebel against the government. If there was a brotherhood clan it will be very huge clan and they won't have chance to meet every single person in the clan. for example, when our actual president met with the other party leader and told him that if he win the president he should give him work and then at his back he said that he was going to win the election and there won't be chance for the other president to win.All the governments are the same and they just want to control all what they can.

Is it not simply an invention of the Thought Police?” This is when Winston meet O'Brien and he ask about brotherhood. He ask if t was real or not and O'Brien answer, "it doesn't exist." e told that it exist but not in the way he thinks of. If this group continue growing they will gain more power and it will be easy to destroy Big Bother whenever they are ready too. I think that the conspiracy exist, because a lot of people are trying to stop Big Brother. I think that the rebellion is thriving, because they are growing fast and they are getting they way of how o destroy Big Brother. ¨You are prepared to cheat, to forge, to blackmail, to corrupt the minds of children, to distribute habit-forming drugs, to encourage prostitution, to disseminate venereal diseases to do anything which is likely to cause demoralization and weaken the power of the Party?" This shows how they are getting prepare in the group, they are getting more people that want to destroy Big Brother and they are thriving in this part. I think that ISIS is one conspiracy that can be related to his, they want to force everyone to do what they want by treating them. Here in Honduras the people argue when they are not in favor of the government and sometimes the decision may change it depends on what it was proposed.

In my opinion the conspiracy, consisting in a secret organization mentioned by the thought police is real. I think this conspiracy is not part of the thought police. But if you think this might serve as a tool for the government to know who is against them and disappear him. In the other hand a real conspiracy might be on they way an organization that the government does not has an idea that exists. In this chapter we discover that O'Brien is a real member of the brotherhood. This quote that I'm going to write talks about the brotherhood. The Brotherhood cannot be wiped out because it is not an organization in the ordinary sense." As we see in this quote, the brotherhood is super-secret and even their members don’t recognize each other. Brotherhood can’t be wiped out, in my opinion the brotherhood is not just an organization, it is an idea. If we analyze we see that O'Brien wants Winston's trust, but that is a tool for then O'Brien turn against Winston and Julia. Like I wrote this can be a governments plan, but we don't know. Like in real life an example of this are the Illuminati, they are suppose to be the rulers of the world, the 1% of the people of the world. They indirectly control everything. This is because they are infinity wealthy and powerful.

Is not simply an invention f the thought police. A place were they are against each other trying to know what they know. A conspiracy is like an organization that need to be by the government.
