El Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT), o Enseñanza de Idiomas Basada en Tareas, es un enfoque pedagógico en la enseñanza de idiomas que se centra en la realización de tareas comunicativas como medio principal de instrucción. En lugar de centrarse solo en la memorización de reglas gramaticales y vocabulario, TBLT busca que los estudiantes adquieran habilidades lingüísticas a través de la resolución de tareas del mundo real.

Pre-task: Explain the importance of giving and following instructions in everyday life. Create a discussion about previous experience in giving instructions as an introduction. Ask if they know the ways of giving instructions. Plan the class, make it clear that they are going to work in pairs and indicate the instructions to get to where they want to be.

Task: For pairs, present the instructions on the board, then the rest will have to check that these instructions are correct.

Post-task: Feedback on how the instructions have been followed and comment on the room for improvement. Emphasise the importance of clarity when giving instructions and how this influences daily life. And to finish with a summary of what they have learned during the session.

Materials: One sheet each with a printed map with two designated points, the starting point will be the same for everyone, but each map will have a different destination.

We learned about giving directions to get to one point to another. Furthermore, we had to apply it to a real place, Florida. The explanation of the theory was really clear and the class was interactive and dynamical.

The lesson was well focused and carried on a remarkable way, mainly aimed to learn the vocabulary about giving directions. The learning curve was presicely implemented. 10/10
