         <description><![CDATA[<div>"<strong>Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being. </strong>"(WHO, 1948).<br><br>A healthy diet plays a large role in having a 'complete' physical well-being. Due to the rising onslaught of obesity, many Australians are choosing to become more aware of their food choices. There has been many debates on which food groups need to be regulated and which ones should be cut out completely. However, the general recommendation can only so far as everyone has a different digestive system that can affect the types of nutrients they can absorb. A popular 'health' diet tip circulating the media today is to go gluten-free rather than eating bread to achieve a healthier diet. In other words, the diet tip is promoting the exclusion of gluten in your diet.<br><br>My personal answer to this statement is that it depends on your body and how it reacts to gluten.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>As the name suggests, a gluten-free diet is the absence of gluten in meals. Gluten is made up of the proteins that is found in grains like wheat, rye and barley. Gluten does not have a large effect on our digestive system in terms of nutrients but it does have a huge role in making the texture we find in pasta, pizza dough and bread. Gluten-free diets are compulsory for people with coeliac disease and gluten intolerance. However, those without these conditions have also decided to also take the gluten-free diet as it allegedly helps with weight-loss and a happier mood.</div>]]></description>

So, a gluten-free diet is very important for them which means this statement is true for those with coeliac disease.</div>]]></description>

         <title>What is Coeliac disease</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Coeliac disease can occur at birth or can be triggered by surgery, pregnancy, severe emotional stress, etc. This condition occurs because of villi which are little finger-like rods that point inwards and are located in the small intestine. Villi assists with digestion by increasing the surface area in the small intestine which increases digestive efficiency. Those with Coeliac disease have villi that are swollen causing the surface area to become flat. This disrupts the normal digestion cycle and prevents those with this condition from digesting gluten.<br><br>People are more likely to develop Coeliac disease if they are have a first-degree family member who has the disease. They are also more likely to develop the disease if thyhave a genetic predisposition that are prevalent in people who have celiac disease. A genetic predisposition is a characteristic of your DNA that can show you are more likely to gain a health condition from your inheritance. </div>]]></description>

This is because there are many other essential nutrients that are usually found alongside foods that contain gluten such as folic acid and iron. Gluten-free food will usually include extra fats, sugars and sodium to make up for the lack of taste caused by the absence of gluten.<br><br>Gluten has also been proven to have a beneficial effect on blood pressure and triglycerides. Triglycerides are the fats that the body stores when they are not needed for immediate use.
