         <description><![CDATA[<div>The model shows that during Metaphase the chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell, while being attached to the spindle fibers. Metaphase is important because it prepares the chromosomes to be split in two, basically preparing the chromosomes for the anaphase. Without the metaphase, the chromosomes wouldn't be able to divide.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Interphase</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Interphase is technically not a phase of Mitosis, but during interphase the cell is preparing to divide. It copies DNA, copies cell parts and it checks for any errors that can get in the way of the process. This is important because Interphase is the 'daily living' or metabolic phase of the cell, in which the cell obtains nutrients and metabolizes them, grows, reads its DNA, and conducts other "normal" cell functions.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This model shows the process Anaphase of a cell. Anaphase is important because it guarantees that it duplicates chromosomes and into two equal sets.&nbsp;<br>During the Anaphase stage each chromosome starts to separate from each other and move to opposite sides. They are separated using a spindle fiber. Without Anaphase the cell wouldn't have an equal number of chromosomes and DNA.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The picture above, it shows how the cell is transforming from one cell too 2. For Telophase, the chromosomes gather together on eachside to form 2 new nuclei. For Cytokenisis, the cell pinches in the middle to form 2 new cells. These phases are important because then the cell wouldn't be able to make copies of the DNA because the process of dividing the chromosomes equally which means it wouldn't exist at all.</div>]]></description>

Mitosis is important for living things because When a cell is damaged or tissues are repaired, the new cells must be exact copies of the cells being replaced so as to retain normal function of cells. Without the process of Mitosis, there wouldn't be enough cells to close a wound and livings things would die out quickly.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The goal of cell division is to maintain the organism alive and well. Mitosis is important for all living things because by dividing the cells the body can heal wounds. But closing up wounds is not all cell division is useful for. The body keeps growing as it ages, both inside and outside. As the body grows, it needs more cells and the internal organs need to be of the appropriate size, so the cells have to multiply so the organs can meet the size requirements. The steps of mitosis ensure that the cell divides in a way that both new and old cells have the same DNA and organelles, without any mistakes. Without the process of mitosis we probably wouldn't even be alive, as the body would never be able to grow properly. Without mitosis our body wouldn't be able to heal wounds. Basically, without the process of mitosis humans would either not exist or die at an early age.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
