I'm the English professor for the Bayan Learning Community at Southwestern College in Chula Vista Ca.

The food I'll bring is my pop's karne norte - greasy, fatty, corned beef with onions and cabbage over a scoop of garlic fried rice.

My gift bag for this collaboration is full of attentiveness, a willingness to listen with both ears and my whole heart.

One gift I hope to receive from this meet up is hope. Every time I participate in gigs like this, I leave with a hope. I need some right about now . . .

I'm a veterans counselor from Palomar College in San Marcos, CA.

I'll be bringing is pancit palabok, with extra chicharron and lots of boiled eggs! I love how there's different kinds of pancit, but this one is my favorite!

The gifts I bring to our discussion are passion, empathy, and patience. As a counselor, these are the skills that come naturally for me, and I love to listen to where people are experiencing success, and try to support those who are striving to do better. Meeting you where you are is my gift!

One gift that I hope to receive from this space is productive energy. Community work has always been a great passion of mine, and it's so easy to get burned out doing our work! The camaraderie and mission centeredness of community work does motivate me to work harder!

Mabuhay! I am the Director of Student Life and Leadership at Fullerton College. I am also a current doctoral candidate from Cal State Fullerton getting ready to conduct a dissertation study on the only 3 Filipino Learning Communities and Student Success Programs in California Community Colleges.

I will bring dessert, the best homemade bibingka from Tony's BBQ at West Covina (better than Manila Sunset's bibingka!).

Hi everyone! I am a second year student at Southwestern college and a current board member of the Bayan Student Organization.

1. The food I'll bring is lechon kawali! Lechon kawali combined with rice is a favorite meal of mine whenever I go to any Filipino restaurant. It's nice and simple but filled with flavor.

2. One gift I bring to our collab is friendliness. I feel that I can radiate energy that can bring the group together into one cohesive unit that has quality conversations.

Greetings, folks! I am the Coordinator of the Kababayan Learning Community and the Advisor for the Filipino Student Union at Skyline College in San Bruno, CA. I teach the English courses: first-year composition, second-year composition, Filipino American literature, and applied English skills in cultural production a.k.a. “the Pilipino Cultural Night class.”

The food I’ll be bringing is my sinigang chicken wings with steamed rice! Super easy to make: coat the wings with olive oil, add your Mama Sita or Knorr mix, and pop ‘em in the air fryer for 8 minutes on each side.

The gift I bring to this collaboration is my experience: I’ve been the coordinator for the KLC since 2003, and I’d love to share what I’ve learned over the past 17 years as a teacher, a mentor, an advisor, and so much more.

The gift I hope to receive is the people power you all bring to tonight’s event. I tell my students every semester that I learn from them as much as they learn from me, and I look forward to seeing that in action tonight, too.
