It was first shown in Paris during the meeting of the Société d'encouragement pour l'industrie nationale on March 22 1895. It was shot with a Cinématographe, a device of their own making that could not only record moving images on film, but also allowed them to be projected on a screen. She is the world's first woman film director and inventor of film narrative.
