Why postgrad study?

Many people thought I was crazy putting myself (voluntarily) through the stress of another year of study at University on a post graduate course. However, I knew that I wanted to attend and complete a post graduate course because I feel it is vital for my future aspirations in the heritage/museums sector. This is because there are never enough jobs in heritage to go round so having an MA sets myself apart from other candidates because I will have the relevant qualifications to successfully manage a heritage site. Furthermore, it exposes me to some of the leading professionals in the field and this course gives me the opportunities to visit and study, through an academic sense, more heritage sites. If I chose not to apply and attend this course I would not have these golden opportunities. The stress of assignments, dissertations etc are new challenges for me and I can't wait to survive and overcome them to achieve my dream!
