To modify the column width, all you would need to do is put your icon over either side of the column or row, and click and move. To adjust more than one at once, you can select the cells you want to adjust, and then adjust one of the cells you selected. You can also AutoFit a cell by right clicking. To insert a new column or row, you would select the row underneath, or the column to the right and select insert column or row. You can also use text wrap to fit all the contents of a cell in half the size. Finally, to merge the cells, you would select the cells you want to merge, and select the Merge & Center command. Lesson sixteen talks about how to use functions within your workbook. Along with holding values and text, they can also hold and perform functions. Functions are predefined formulas that perform calculations using specific values in a particular order. Excel has a variety of functions available including: sum, average, count, max, and min. To insert a function, you would first choose the cell where you want the info to appear, and then choose the cells you want the function to calculate.
