The plan worked and students were prepared. The amount of time was perfect for what we planned to do. Feedback from parents was all positive. Not as many parents came as we hoped. I wish we I had been more active trying to get the parents in and building up the day better. Clearly written out Units of Inquiry and the display of learning outcomes allowed parents to see how the Student World works in the classroom. The parents were very open minded to their children and listened to their presentations while asking thoughtful questions. One thing that could have gone better was making the conferences 100% student led. Parents and students were engaged in the stations. Parents were happy about how confident the kids were and the progress that the kids have shown over the term. 

Stations were organized well. Students knew what to do. They were able to demonstrate their skills through the different activities we set up and also, show evidence of their learning.

The students knew what they wanted to talk about and were able to explain the main points of their learning throughout the year. They used the bulletin boards to remind them of things they could talk about. I started the day off asking parents to fill out two stars and a wish, but I stopped because there wasn't much time and it was a little awkward for the parents to fill out. Overall, really great! The students and the parents were amazing! The students were sharing their artwork from home and happily shared it with us. The families were supportive of their child’s work and attitude and support our Art classes. Everyone who signed came today! I am delighted to meet all our warm-hearted parents.

The parents appreciate the opportunity to meet us face to face, see the classroom, go through the stations with their child and learn about what he or she is learning in the class. They asked questions, gave feedback and learned with their child through the activities. It was truly a meaningful learning experience and not just a conference. We were well prepared with the stations and the materials needed for each one. We even prepared an SLC booklet for students with the stations and instructions for each task. We encouraged the parents to ask questions and do the activities with their child.
What could have gone better: 
The time allocated was not enough for students and parents to go through each station. Some parents were late and so had to extend the time. Two pairs of students and parents inside the classroom was doable but not very efficient. There were teachers doing the conference in the hallway due to lack of space and also parents waiting for their turn. It would be better to either limit the stations or increase the time, allot a classroom for each subject teacher and prioritize those with full schedule, and have someone going around to monitor the crowd and also assist parents in looking for the other teachers]]> 2022-03-27 21:20:55 UTC https://padlet.com/shikha_ahuja/ouuj701w5c9cxj1h/wish/2115928701 Grade 1A https://padlet.com/shikha_ahuja/ouuj701w5c9cxj1h/wish/2116452991 16 signed up, 15 attended.  A few parents wanted more normal conference but most engaged well with the student-led stations. It was the first time that most of the parents attended a student-led conference so some were a bit unsure how it works at first but they all gave very good feedback. All were very happy and had positive feedbacks. 
Parents were excited about having their child explain their class work and all of them were enthusiastic about the format of the meeting. 
Some meetings took a little longer, but parents still remained respectful of the time and never extended over 5min.
