My grade level uses Dreambox math with all of our kindergarteners. We find that it supports our district curriculum (Bridges) pretty well and seems to be pretty engaging for students. For myself as a 1/2 day kindergarten teacher, I find it a great way to use 10 minutes of technology time as students rotate through centers in a meaningful way to support their learning. As they complete certain activities then new ones become available to them so they can work at their own pace. Dreambox is a fee based program however.

Parents are able to view their child's post and even leave comments. I look forward to showing next years class even more with Seesaw, this was my first year using the tool!
-Jessica McNary

As a speech-language pathologist in a high school setting - one of my tasks is helping support IEP accommodations. This year, we had a student that had oral test taking for standardized tests (e.g. PSAT-9/10, SAT), however, we were struggling to ensure that EVERY time a quiz or test was scheduled in class, a provider was available to read to her at the same time. We discovered that with Google Read&Write, this student could not only have the quiz read to her, but she could do so independently! Her scores have significantly improved, and she enjoys the independence and freedom of staying in the classroom with her peers for testing.

At this time, they typically use their own devices, but I occasionally check out an iPad cart. Similarly, I like to use Poll Everywhere, which is embedded in our lecture notes to question student understanding as we are working on notes. It has helped to keep my students engaged.

For more creative learning, I like to have students develop learning videos with iMovie. Either making a vodcast of content or exploring extensions of content has been a fun way to keep students inquiring about their learning. It also gives them a way to practice public speaking skills without public presentation.

It is a truncated version of Photoshop, and very easy to use. While not as versatile as Adobe Creative Suite Products, it is easy to access from most computers and students can use it on Chromebooks. I've tried a lot of free and easy to use graphic programs, and Ribbet far surpasses the others for a host of reasons. They just updated their user interface, adding more features and making it even more intuitive to use.

- Elissa Jane Mastel

Math, vocab and reading are all adaptive. I often have it is a rotation during literacy and math. That way I can work with small groups and all students have some time to work at their level independently. Plus I can track their data and progress. One thing that is important to ensure it's success is to motivate students to focus by showing real-time data, printing out badges and celebrating their successes.
-Tracy Simpson

While I use Google Classroom as well, I like the organization of Schoology with the folders, rather than having to tag and search. By using the folders, students can see exactly what's in each one without wondering if there's more out there. In addition to Schoology being helpful to me to organize assignments and activities within units, I find it a good tool for students to share with each other as well. I recently had some success with students sharing review tips and resources with each other on Schoology.
-Ryan Hargraves

This tool is mainly used to practice vocabulary. Memrise is based on brain research and will remind you when it is time to review certain vocabulary. Once you've practiced certain vocabulary enough times and they are in your long-term memory your need to review them decreases. There is also a feature called mems that help the learner remember certain words by using an image or words to associate with a certain word or phrase. Memrise really works well for beginning level world language classes or any class where students need to learn to recognize and spell vocabulary. It is mainly geared towards learners, and not specifically teachers, so that makes it a little tricky to use as well. I've had mixed reviews from students, but some absolutely love it.
-Jason Herrman

I post videos and websites that allow students extra practice. I have started using this these last two years and only recently did I learn how to add more than one class session at a time.
The two technology tools that I use the most are Kahoots for quizzes and Google Classroom for assignments. Google Classroom has really helped me keep assignments organized. Presentations are so much easier because I can find their slideshows without extensive searching and it's all in one place. My students also love Kahoots. I made 87 Kahoots this year for various quizzes. Students are more engaged and competitive. The only drawback is students who click in too quickly and get the answer incorrect because they want to win. After reading what other teachers have to say, I am interested in checking out Memrise.

I took a CoPilot class earlier this year and it was an intro into Google Classroom. As an interventionist, I did not see how I could integrate this into my groups; however when I did, I loved it. I could get kids excited about the same things I would be doing with pencil and paper by just placing it on Google Classrooms. We did a digital discussion on one of the texts we were reading. The rule was that no one could speak only discuss through classrooms. The discussion we had was better than most. I can see Google Classrooms integrated into schools quite easily.
-Kristin Duncan

Zearn is a fantastic online resource because it goes right along with the lessons students are learning in class. Students have their own accounts and get the opportunity to pass levels and missions as they progress through the curriculum. I love that after I teach something, I can put students on Zearn and it reinforces the concepts and skills they just learned through videos and games. Students are also able to move at their own pace, and struggling students get extra support through Zearns questioning and teacher modeling videos.

-Allie Hatch

This is a blended learning approach that allows me to control exactly what and how the lesson is presented to students. I can create videos or use already created ones to teach the students what I need for them to know. In the HyperDoc I can create and link activities I want them working on. They are self paced and students can ask questions as they go. There is also a collaboration/reflection activity near the end to further discussion and allow them to give feedback on their peers ideas.
~Kai Miller

This year, I took a Digital Storytelling Class and it was awesome. We learned to use WeVideo for sharing digital stories- basically making simple videos with audio recording of students telling the story along with pictures. I was afraid it would be too hard for 4th graders, but honestly with very little instruction students jumped right in and were teaching me how to do new stuff. It was a great way to make their writing more dynamic and created a real new audience for their writing. After we did our first project, students were begging to do more! Also it allows students to share their videos through Google Classroom

FlipGrid is an excellent resource for discussions and checking for understanding. Essentially, you post a question whether in text form or through video and people respond to it. Students record a video response to the question or prompt. There is an app or they can do it on most school devices. The teacher side allows you to have multiple threads for different classes or discussions as well as being able to lock everyone but the instructor from seeing the video or comments. When I taught college courses, I used this as a discussion board replacement because it worked on so many skills and people liked to see each other and feel like there was a conversation happening!

In Biology we use Quizlet to get the foundation of vocabulary and then used Kahoots to study and practice concepts. My co-teacher and I knew what stuck and what we had to reteach so it was beneficial to the overall class. In Algebra we went OLD SCHOOL with paper and kids first. We had paper, markers, and no technology. The kids had to find a word, a definition, and an example. We mixed up three different groups and they taught each other. After that I added words and definition on Quilt to test how much they retained. We are really working on academic vocabulary and speaking in a more professional manner.
Ellen McHugh Angeles

You can also track students' progress and see how much they watched, how many times, and their scores.
You can prevent students from skipping questions and assign due dates. It also links to Google classroom, or you can email a link, or have students enter a code on an EdPuzzle account.

My 8th-graders love Kahoot. I use it as a teaching tool - the majority misses a question - we stop and re-teach it. It is fun and we even do team competitions. The kids like that they can use their own phones and not have to use the school supplied Chromebooks. I also like that there are many already premade presentations. Sometime I can grab one and have it for subs in emergencies.

On our team of four teachers we have one teacher who is very tech resistant and one newbie who was just always lost. Prior to Hyperdocs with these two I would spend FOREVER just trying to link them and explain what their kids should do on an activity tied to our IB Unit. Once I started utilizing hyperdocs, however, I simply had to share with them since the directions for the kids were already in place.. This ensured that all of our classes were being exposed to these cool activities with consistency.

Not only is it fun and interactive, but there are also many pre-created quizzes you can use and edit as well. With the pre-created ones you have to look carefully at the questions to make sure they fit, just like any pre-created materials. Kids can play either independently or as a group, where they have to come to a consensus. If you do this it can work well as a Kagan activity, you would just need to adjust the time allowed to give students the time to talk. This is also a multiple choice only tool. Thank you for all of the great suggestions. I haven't heard of a lot of these!
Courtney Beerman

One of the tools I have worked on refining and continue to make more useful for both my student and myself, is creating our assessments using Google Forms. We focused this last year on making sure that our assessments were balanced with DOK questions. By really looking at the questions we asked, and the critical thinking that students would need to use to answer questions, has really made a positive impact on effectively assessing our students. By adding maps, primary sources, links to sources, our assessments have covered many levels. This way we can focus our time and grading on the written assessments, because it has refined our data to focus on our most essential targets. However, looking at so many other suggestions, I am excited to also finding more ways to keep incorporating more technology.

On each side of the code is A, B, C, D for the 4 answer choices. The answer they choose is at the top and they show it facing the teacher. The questions are projected on a screen and the teacher uses his/her Ipad to scan the class (QR codes) of each child. As the teacher scans, he/she knows immediately which students had the correct answer and which student did not. There are options on Plickers that allow the kids to see if they were wrong or you can hide so no one sees but the teacher. I have used this many times True or False, Multiple Choice, etc. The kids LOVE it and I get immediate feedback.

In my upper elementary classes I use Google Classroom to have students turn in their art work digitally. With in Classroom I also have students fill h out a Google form that is a survey on how they felt about the art assignment. This allows me to ask classes questions on ideas I have on how I might change the assignment in the future. I keep it really simple and to the point. Over the past few years it has been very useful in reviewing my assignments and how well the students comprehend the art assignments. I have even changed the options of many assignments because of the responses from the surveys. I have also used Google classroom to post instructional videos that I made for teaching One point perspective. I even use Google Classroom for my middle school football team. I post schedule playbooks and announcements on the site so there is never a paper lost in the bottom of a players back pack.

-Darrell Woods

Every time students have a writing assessment, I have them submit their final piece using a Google Doc. I love this because I have a record of every submitted piece for each student. I can attach a rubric, grade, and add comments on line. Schoology time stamps the submission and keeps it for me the entire year like an electronic portfolio. I also like how I can look at students' writing during the process for conferencing and reflection. By attaching the Google doc, I can pre-set the formatting for typing.

I like using Plickers because they are easy enough to understand even for my 1st graders. They are simply cards that each child gets with unique codes, similar to a barcode. The question is projected and kids hold up the card with an answer A,B,C,or D. I then scan the cards and they are instantly given feedback on the screen. I can give quick checks for understanding without having to get out computers and log in. Kids think of them as a game and are always excited when we use them. I can phrase questions so that even when they get them wrong they can see the answer, we can discuss it, and they can learn from their mistake. The Plicker program is easy to use. Questions take literally minutes to create and are stored in a library. There is also a library within the site to "borrow" questions from.
-Suzanne Sherry

I use it for a great quick assessment in math, as a number talk in math, for book reviews in reading or to practice fluency with an article for reading or even just a fun and interactive way for them to share something special. Not only do the students love getting to record themselves, they love the stickers and LOVE giving feedback. Flipgrid allows you to make their links private so I can easily share what the students said individually to their families, which I love.
-Amanda Boshinski

Through Epic, I was able to create a free account for each of my students. I can monitor how many books they are reading, assign books or sets of books to all, or some of the students, and require the students to take comprehension quizzes if I choose to. I have really loved having access to this resource as some of the content that we study is hard to have multiple copies of relevant leveled text for. For example, when we studied frog adaptations, I was able to create a collection of books to make available to my students that contained 80 books (including audio books). I also assigned specific titles to specific kids based on Lexile levels.
-Sarah Gilbert

In the last two years, I just love using Google Drawing. I create almost all of my handouts for students using it rather than Google Docs because it is so much more flexible and has more options for design. I have also found that students love to do projects on Google Drawing. Their products are so creative and each one is original.
--Sara Weatherley

I know Youtube has a bad reputation sometimes but I love showing short clips and commercials from all over the world to my class. I search for appropriate content ahead of time and save it to a playlist so there is no searching involved when students are with me. Showing them content from around the world not only brings in multiple perspectives but also shows students that we might have more in common with people they perceive are very different from themselves.

I see that Flipgrid has been mentioned on this Padlet. This past week I used Flipgrid to have 5th grade students do a Scavenger Hunt as a library review. I wanted to use Goosechase, but after reading that I could only have 3 free teams in the free version of Goosechase, another Teacher Librarian shared the steps for a Fliphunt. My students worked in teams and made short videos showing either a library policy or a library procedure. It was a very engaging and energetic library review.

I use Seesaw with my 2nd grade students. The biggest takeaway for me is that it has built-in accountability for students. As the teacher, I can see how well my students understood the lesson or assignment. I like that it is user friendly for 2nd graders, or younger students. They are pretty good at navigating throughout the app on their own. I also like the built-in feature that my families automatically get to see what their student is working on. (Post by T. I am fortunate enough to have a Chrome cart in my classroom, so I am able to do everything on Classrooms. I love that it keeps me and my students organized. I know when assignments were given and when students have turned them in. No more "lost" assignments or handouts! I also grade whatever portion of the assignment has been completed so students don't receive zeros anymore. It has really helped my students who forget to turn in assignments. But since taking several of these COpilot classes I have found new success with other programs. Google classroom has become a daily use tool for many reasons. One is the ease of use for me and my students. Kids can respond to questions and take quizzes with instant feedback. I have students post their writing assignments and other projects such as webpages and I can not only give grades, but I provide feedback too. And it keeps a great record of the student work so we can go back and track improvements easily. I also just have begun using Quizlet after taking a class and it seems to be working well with positive feedback from my students.

Gimkit (https://www.gimkit.com)is an interactive game like Kahoot, but students answer questions at their own pace. Each time a students answers a question correctly they get Gimkit money and if they get the question wrong they lose money. Usually the game environment is setup for a 10 minute game. I've used it in my classroom to practice multiplication facts. I've seen a tremendous growth in my students ability to do multiplication quickly. I highly recommend Gimkit to anyone.

As the art teacher of my elementary school, I teach every student in the entire school, grades K-5. I needed a way to share EVERYTHING in one simple, dimple place. I make demonstration videos and hold Flipgrid topics for my students, and I also have been asked to keep track of participation from 400 students. Wix is very easy to use to make your own website-it has awesome features that are flexible and let you do and show only what you need, no more and no less. It has gorgeous templates to make your website look professional and engaging with the click of a button. It also keeps track of how many visitors and visits you have to your sight, so I have been using that to keep track of participation. Highly recommend it if you have a large amount of students and lots of different things going on. All of my students know exactly where to look to find all the stuff for art class. The link stays the same-I just update it every week!
-Olivia Toth

I also love flip grid! But my 8th graders are a little bit shy about using it right now.

The reason that I like Quizizz better is because it is individualized to the student instead of the class. Each student gets a question on their device to answer in their own time. Students move through the 'quiz' at their own pace. For students who need more time than they receive on Kahoot, this is fabulous. Additionally, I can assign these as homework and students access them via a code. Students can use their school email to sign in, I can create classes, and these are printable for students who were absent.

I played with Flipgrid in my classroom a bit back in January and my students were very silly. They loved playing with the stickers and videobombing (is that a word?) each other, plus it was REALLY LOUD in our open space environment, so I stopped. However, once we started working from home, this became my go to for community building. I could get a glimpse into my fifth graders learning environments. Also, my students who struggled to write were suddenly communicating very effectively and collaborating with peers through the response feature.

It is so easy to use, and allows your students to write directly on pages online with their fingers, trackpads, mouses, or enter text boxes, add links, make audio recordings, and so much more. You as the teacher can even be alerted by a student if they need support, and you can respond in a chat. It is awesome! It is similar to Google Classroom and also links to Google Classroom so your assignments can go right into it.

It was so much easier to navigate for students and it took half the time to create. Most importantly, it helped us all maintain connection with each other. They were able to convey their learning about particular concepts while showcasing their personalities. Students could also watch each other's videos and get ideas if they needed guidance in how to respond. Finally, it always brought a smile and a laugh when I watched them.

A tech resource I like to use for quick formative assessment is Plickers. It only requires the teacher to have a tech device. It is an ios & android app that also talks to your desktop as a program for easy data collection. You simply make question sets for whatever your topic is. They are saved within the program so you can reuse and tweak them. Your questions do have to be multiple choice/True or False, they can't be open response. Basically how it works is every student has a square card (that can be printed on plain paper) with an unique design. Due to the unique designs no one can "read" another's chosen answers. After you ask a question, each student holds up there card with the edge that has there answer up (A, B, C, D is very small on each respective edge). As the teacher you quickly scan the class with your device, I use my smart phone, and it very rapidly grabs the students' answers and tells you which ones you have gotten and which still need to get scanned. You can also easily connect it to a video screen and it will show the whole class who has been scanned or not so they can aide in collection. It is amazingly fast and grabs from a good distance. It maintains confidentiality and doesn't tell the class who is right or wrong or even what each answered, just who has been scanned. The data goes straight to the teacher. Then within the program you can analyze your data with ease and create different reports you want. https://help.plickers.com/hc/en-us

I have used the pear deck factory for vocabulary acquisition. You simply upload a word list and have your students log in with the code for the game. The program puts them into random pairs: one draws an image for the word, and the other creates a sentence for the word. You could work with a list of ten words or less at a time. When you call time, the images/ sentences come up on the screen (anonymously), and the class can either reject it off of the factory conveyor belt, or they can accept it as acceptable. It's competitive and fun, and the students don't realize how much they are learning as it's linked closely to the Frayer model of vocabulary acquisition--in a game format. It would be a great cross-curricular tool for any subject with vocabulary to learn. Minimal teacher effort/ great collaboration/ strong vocabulary acquisition reinforcement.

It is a really effective way to get kids some extra practice or instruction when they need it.

It is very similar to peardeck, but I feel like it has more resources for HS subjects and teachers. I love that it allows students to conceptualize material through many different variables: drawing, multiple choice, writing, matching, watching videos and more!

Jamboard was my savior for virtual collaboration this year. I used it in my English classes to generate and brainstorm ideas before an assignment/activity and had my students refer back to it when necessary. It was a great way to learn and share ideas as a whole class and then have struggling students use it as a support when they were working independently. On the fun side, I also had my Advisory/Homeroom students use it create things like a Thanksgiving table with images from Google.

My favorite tech tool so far has been Gamkit or Quizlet. You are able to incorporate content but in a way that is set up like a game, so the kids get really into it. On each of these platforms, there are pre-made lessons in a variety of subject areas, but you are also able to create your own lesson with your own material. There are also "just for fun" ones like "name that logo" or "what animal is this" that sometimes we will play just for fun if we finish a lesson early or if the kids have earned it in some way.

GoFormative.com has been a game-changer for me this year teaching 7th grade math virtually. I use it for all my formative and summative standards-based assessments. There are many other uses as well (including teaching new content), but I love the way it allows students to show their math work for assessing. I can even insert images, like a number line, into the Show Your Work part of a question, so they have that to draw on top of. It also has allowed me to give more formative feedback (and more quickly) than I ever have before. I plan to continue using it next year too even for my hybrid students.

Jamboard has been so wonderful this school year! It is such a handy tool to help kids collaborate. It is one place where I have been able to teach math online. I struggled with having math problems ready and being able to share my work as well as looking at student work. Jamboard allowed me to prepare for my math lesson and share work. Kids could see each others work and engage in math conversations even when we were remote learning. I also utilized jamboard for morning meetings where I would capture ideas of the students or they could post their own. Love Jamboard!

This free website has dozens of templates you can download and reuse for synchronous or asynchronous work in the classroom. This year, I used the “Quiz Show” for my review sessions before the final exams. It is similar to Jeopardy but much more user friendly. The template is a Google Sheet that you fill out and it creates the game for you. There are options for multiple teams. I used it as one group together, but there are multiple options for this piece of interaction. Having the students take turns choosing a category and reading the question to the whole class was the most successful way I used this “Quiz Show” in my virtual sessions. The “Random NamePicker” was fun to use too!

Gimkit is Kahoot on steroids and the kids absolutely love to use it for review. I also used it this year to "do homework." Instead of doing a homework set of questions from the book, I would have each kid create one question from the book and then at night they would all answer the questions until they had made enough "money" from answering enough of the questions correctly. This way I could ensure that they were able to be proficient at answering the questions instead of just putting in some random guesses.

I enjoyed using EdPuzzle during remote learning and will continue to use it when we are fully back in person next year. It is easy to use, set up, and the students really enjoy it. Teachers can find videos on YouTube, TED Vimeo, Khan Academy or use personal videos while cropping and adding content like commentary, multiple choice questions, and open ended questions. Teachers can see how students engage with the video. A great feature is that you can share your work so there are a lot of ready made videos. https://edpuzzle.com/
