In the winter they are completely white, in the winter there feathers are still white but  have streaks of grey and different shades of brown. They have adapted to their land by learning that walking on the ground can save energy. An interesting fact about this bird is that it prefers cold weather if the weather gets above a certain degree it can be found bathing in snow.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

Since the snow is melting earlier it is reducing the amount of water that we get in parts of the year that we need it more.
