Trados Studio is a computer-assisted translation tool which offers a complete, centralized translation environment for editing, reviewing and managing translation projects and terminology.

If you like to do a final read through your translation in MS Word, Powerpoint or other native application, you will find Retrofit very useful. With Retrofit you can make small changes to your translation in its native application and then quickly update your bilingual Trados file with these changes cutting out the need for duplicating that work in Studio. Bear in mind that Retrofit is suited to small amendments to wording made within the existing document structure.

1. Save your translation to its native format, in this case MS Word. Make some small changes.

2. To import these changes back into the bilingual file you click on Update from Bilingual Review>Update from Reviewed Target File (Retrofit) on the Review tab or from Batch Tasks.

3. Under Reviewed Target File, select the revised Word document and click Finish.

4. When you reopen the bilingual file in Trados the changes you made in Word are present here as track changes.

1. Look at the flag of language, it shows us our target language e.g. Polish (Poland). We change the flag to source language - English.

2. Then we add new file, right click Add files.

3. To go with the new file to the editor, you need to set the target language again, e.g. Polish.

4. Voilà!
