An Archetype is a lasting idea from media, like the idea of a hero or the villain. It's an idea and a basic building block of a character or an event in a story.

I would sat that a hero is an archetype same with the villain and probably the mentor is one too.

Archetypes are repeating concepts in storytelling that continuously pop up in media (books, movies, tv shows). They are old ideas that keep repeating through time and stories.

There are some standard Archetypes like The Hero and The Trickster.

I'm not really sure what they are, I know I've heard that word before. It might be a central object in a story? I don't see that on other responses but if I hadn't read those I'd say it'd be a central object in a story.

I'd say an example of an Archetype object would be the One Ring from Lord of the Rings and the Grimmerie from Wicked

An archetype is a concept for characters. It's a simplification of an idea and a repeated motif across many different mediums and times.

The classic ones would be the Mentor and the Hero

Not exactly sure what an archetype is but I'm not googling it like you said. My guess would be that an archetype is a kind of character in theatre. Like the masks thing?

For examples I think the masks are called Comedy and Tragedy if this is what archetypes are.
