Daniella Mokhtar (Management School) Hello everyone! I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am currently in my second year of PhD with the topic of Workplace Bullying, based at the Institute of Workplace Psychology (IWP). I have a Psychology Degree and Masters in Occupational Psychology. I've always been interested in Psychology as it looks at various issues on behaviours and how the mind works. There are 1001 of ways to look at it and the interesting bit is that there is always something new to learn on how our daily lives can affect our well-being and the environment. Specifically, I am more interested in the behaviours at the workplace and the dynamics within it, not just looking at it from one perspective but from various angles. My research interest also touches on perseverative cognition (worry, rumination, etc) and how it might moderate/mediate employees' health and well-being (physical, emotional and psychological).

I am open to any questions on my research area and also looking forward to see you soon!

Hi I am a first year PhD student exploring the concept of employee voice within different healthcare organisational structures. My research project uses comparative case study analysis as a way of better understanding the specific nuances at play when exploring voice and whistleblowing discourse at the micro employee level within company structures, and the impact this has on patient care standards. I would say that my overarching interests centre on employment relations within the healthcare context, and its relationship to patient care, and the processes needed to better practicalize outcomes of healthcare research. (I also like watching movies)

She was trained as an architect and practised in the design and construction field in Mexico City until 2010, when she had the crazy idea of becoming a qualitative social scientist in the United Kingdom. Her PhD focused on social housing and the consequences of architectural design on the everyday lives of residents... have you ever thought if we shape our buildings or they shape us? Well, that's what she's particularly interested; in learning more about how we all interact with, personalise and modify our built environment. But wait, it's not only about work! She loves cooking, running, cycling, walking in the Peaks, and going to the pub!

She earned a BA with distinction in Mass Communication and Media Arts (Journalism) from the Queen Margaret University of Edinburgh and also holds a BA in History and Archaeology and an MA in Journalism and New Media both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In Chrysi’s PhD work she aims to examine the uses of Twitter in the present political dialogue as well as the democratic potential of it, to discover the new ways that media cover the elections and how they embrace social media and especially microblogging. She looks at how journalists' roles are formed in this new context, how media outlets manage to face the new challenges and how the audience responds by measuring the level of engagement and participation. Finally, she examines which are the implications of these advancements for the Public Sphere concept.
