Speeches should be about issues that need social justice. However, in the iPhone example the thesis is not directly stated, but heavily implied when each point is mentioned. The topic is kind of casually introduced in the beginning. For example, in the open letter about open letters, the author states "You have experienced something systematically unfair." This is kind of casual and it introduces what the letter is about. However it is not something they are trying to prove. It should flow nicely and not be as choppy as a paper. For example, in a book, there isn't a solid set in ground thesis, its the evidence that the characters show, and the overall message in the end implies what the thesis is.
