It combines a large number of special effects with a very original soundtrack.

The Hunger Games is based on the trilogy novels written by Suzanne Collins. The films are titled "The Hunger Games", "Catching Fire" and "Mockingjay"; this one was split up into two parts. The films are set in a future time, in Panem, a world were the wealthy people live in the Capital while the poorest ones live in districts. The plot of "The Hunger Games" is that every year one boy and one girl from each 12 districts, between 12 and 18 years old are selected to compete in the Hunger Games. In this event the tributes have to fight to death in the arena and only the winner can come back to their home. The purpose of this event is to remind the districts the Capitol's power, but then they will try to organize a rebellion.

The main characters are Katniss Everdeen portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence, a very strong girl that wants to save her family. The Oscars winner, jump to fame thanks of their incredible acting performances in these films. Other important character is Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark, a brave boy that is falling in love with Katniss. Josh take part in other films like Indubious Battle and The kids are all Right.
