Reluctantly, I decided to visit Jefferson for the first time the day after his execution date had been set. It feels more like an obligation to meet with him because I know I will not find a man, but a broken boy consumed by despair. His words were sharp aimed at himself, full of hate. It feels hopeless trying to get him to feel hope. I don't think things can get better.

When me and Grant get to the jail I dont see my Jefferson, I see the animal they made him to be. Jefferson refuses to speak, eats like an animal, or won’t even look at me. Even when i raised the boy, I see the hurt and the damage this system has done to him, and now he’s slipping away, acting like the “hog” the court called him.

Song : Last time (I seen the sun) By Miles Caton & Alice Smith

Breaking News: Jefferson has been wrongfully accused!!!

@Grant Waggins reposted

Jefferson was accused of the murderer and robbery of Alcee Grope, a white shopkeeper. Jefferson accompanied Brother and Bear, black young boys to the liquor store, but they refused to pay for an item they wanted from Old Grope which led to them getting into a heated argument that involved shooting, with the end results of all 3 of them losing their lives. This left Jefferson traumatized. Unfortunately for Jefferson, he was accused of the crime even though he was just a bystander. With the time period of racial injustice, it was easy to frame Jefferson for being the criminal in the situation because of his race. Jefferson was convicted for a crime he didn't commit!!

Just another day at the store, until everything went wrong. Three men walked in and demanded liquor. When I refused, they threatened me, and things escalated to a fight. In the end, we all ended up taking each other's lives, with only Jefferson left alive.

Song: Sad Eyes By Robert John
