Usrah ;-

Usrah is a group of 5-6 people or more that meet once a week on average and try to grow together. That means different things to different people and that dynamic changes group to group but overall, it’s people that are committed to the religion of Islam and want to grow and develop themselves as members of that community. I am happy to get to know new people and get closer every week . Not to mention , My caring facilitator who always guide me .

5 pillars of Islam,

• Shahada (Declaration of Faith)

• Second Pillar: Salah (Prayer)

• Sawm (Fasting)

• Zakat (Almsgiving)

• Fifth Pillar: Hajj (Pilgrimage)

As we already know, these are one of the most important things as a muslim. Starting from the shahada, the assertion of faith. The Shahada, or profession of faith is said five times a day during prayer. It is the first thing said to a newborn, and the last thing to a person on their death-bed, showing how the Muslim prayer and the pillars are instrumental from the day a person is born until the day they die. Next, Salah (Prayer) Before a prayer is observed, ablutions are performed including washing one's hands, face and feet.^[16] A caller (Muezzin in Arabic) chants aloud from a raised place in the mosque. Verses from the Quran are recited either loudly or silently. These prayers are a very specific type of prayer and a very physical type of prayer called prostrations. These prayers are done five times a day, at set strict times, with the individual facing Mecca. The prayers are performed at dawn, noon, afternoon, evening, and night: the names are according to the prayer times: Fajr (dawn), Dhuhr (noon), ʿAṣr(afternoon), Maghrib (evening), and ʿIshāʾ (night). Also Br kimi emphasized that Salah is the first thing that will be asked on the day of Judgement. After that, Fasting takes place during the daylight hours in Ramadan, which is the holy month in the Islamic calendar. Using a lunar calendar means the month of Ramadan shifts 11 days earlier each year. Sawm is directly mentioned in the Quran: "eat and drink until the whiteness of the day becomes distinct from the blackness of the night at dawn, then complete the fast till night…". The fast occurs from dawn to sunset each day, during which time believers are expected to prohibit themselves from any food, drink, sexual intercourse, or smoking. The reason for fasting during Ramadan is to remind Muslims that all individuals are similarly needy upon the assistance of God and that there are less lucky individuals who need their assistance. Next, Zakat means purification which indicates that a payment makes the rest of one's wealth legally and religiously pure.^[16] By following this pillar, Muslims have to deduct certain amount of their wealth to support the Islamic community, and it usually about 2.5% of an individual's wealth. This practice is not found in the Quran but rather in the hadith. The tax is used to take good care of the holy places and mosques in the individual's specific Muslim community or to give assistance to those in need or who are impoverished. Lastly, The final Pillar of Islam is the Hajj, or pilgrimage. During one's life, a Muslim is required to make the pilgrimage to Mecca during the 12th month of the lunar calendar. This ritual consists of making journey to Mecca wearing only 2 white sheets so all of the pilgrims are identical and there is no class distinction among them. The main rituals of the Hajj include walking seven times around the Kaaba termed Tawaf, touching the Black Stone termed Istilam, traveling seven times between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah termed Sa'yee, and symbolically stoning the Devil in Mina termed Ramee.^[31] When at Mecca, the pilgrims go to the Ka’aba in the mosque and walk around it in a circle.

• - Believe in Allah -

  Belief in Allah is the foundation for which a Muslim’s faith is built upon. It is to believe that Allah is the only Creator, Sustainer, King, and Planner of everything in existence.

• - Believe in Angels -

  Angels are from the world of the unseen.  They were created to obey the commands of Allah and they never transgress His laws or commands. It is upon the Muslim to believe that the angels exist, that they are the creation of Allah, and that some of them have been given names. Some of these names are Jibreel (Gabriel), Mikail, Israfeel, and Malik.

• - Believe in the Revealed Scriptures ( Al - Quran )

  In Islam it is a part of faith to believe all the books that were revealed to the messengers. There have been many scriptures revealed throughout the history of mankind. Allah tells us about a few of the names of the scriptures in the Qur’an.

  They include the Torah which was sent to Moses, the Gospel which was sent to Jesus, the Psalms (Zaboor) which was sent to David, the scriptures of Ibrahim (Abraham), and the Qur’an itself which was sent to Muhammad (peace be upon them all).

• - Believe in the Messengers

  There are 25 messengers who have been mentioned by name in the Qur’an. They include: Adam, Idrees, Nooh (Noah), Hood, Salih, Ibrahim (Abraham), Lut (Lot), Ismail, Ishaq (Isaac), Ya’qoob (Jacob), Yusuf (Joseph), Shu’ayb, Ayoob (Job), Dhu’l-Kifl, Moosa (Moses), Haroon (Aaron), Dawood (David), Sulaymaan (Solomon), Ilyaas (Elias), al-Yasa’, Yunus (Jonah), Zakaria, Yahya, ‘Isa (Jesus) and Muhammad – blessings and peace be upon them all. Prophets and messengers were chosen by Allah, and were sent to every nation throughout the history of mankind

• - Believe in the Day of Judgement -

  he Day of Judgment is the day when Allah judges mankind for their deeds. Every human being will be resurrected from their graves and will be given their book of deeds – both good and bad. They will regret the sins they committed as well as the good deeds they had missed. Believing in the Last Day includes the belief of the punishment and bliss of the grave, belief in the resurrection, belief in the judgment of the scales which will balance your deeds, and belief in Paradise and Hell.

• - Believe in Divine Decree ( Al - Qadar )

  Al-Qadar is what Allah decrees for every single creation based on what has preceded in terms of His Knowledge and in accordance with His Wisdom. Belief in this pillar is to believe that everything that happens, good or bad, happens only according to Allah’s divine decree.

Ihsan ;-

Ihsan (Arabic: إحسان ʾiḥsān, also romanized ehsan), is an Arabic term meaning "to do beautiful things", "beautification", "perfection", or "excellence" (Arabic: husn, lit. 'beauty').

Br kimi focused more about Al - masih Ad - dajjal. Al-Masih ad-Dajjal (Arabic: ٱلْمَسِيحُ ٱلدَّجَّالُ, romanized: al-Masīḥ ad-Dajjāl, lit. 'Deceitful Messiah'), otherwise referred to simply as the Dajjal, is an evil figure in Islamic eschatology who will pretend to be the promised Messiah and later claim to be God, appearing before the Day of Judgment according to the Islamic eschatological narrative. The word Dajjal is not mentioned in the Quran, but he is mentioned and described in the Hadith. Like in Christianity, the Dajjal is said to emerge out in the east, although the specific location varies among the various sources. The Dajjal will imitate the miracles performed by Prophet Isa, such as healing the sick and raising the dead, the latter done with the aid of demons. He will deceive many people, such as weavers, magicians and children of fornication. The Dajjal is often compared to the Antichrist in Christian tradition.

Adab refers to the Islamic etiquette and entails good manners, morals, and appropriate actions adopted by Islam, derived from its teachings and instructions.

Adab vs Akhlaq

Akhlāq (morality) and adab (manners) are two frequently used terms to denote ethics. Akhlāq is moral philosophy, while adab is the actual practices of morality. Adab “addresses what is the proper, or improper, behaviour of man, while the first (akhlāq) addresses why such actions are proper or otherwise (Hashi, 2011, p. 122)”.

In our regular meetings, we'd sit down together and dive into all sorts of topics – from delving into the Quran to discussing the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. It wasn't just about learning facts; it was about understanding how these teachings could shape our lives for the better. Additional, The best part was the discussions – we'd share ideas off each other, ask questions, and share personal experiences. It felt like a safe space to grow, learn, and even make mistakes along the way.

In this usrah , besides learning more about islam to practice in daily life i have also learned to be grateful because i got to meet kind and supportive usrah members during my foundation studies . I am grateful to Allah swt because he chose me to be put in this beautiful environment where we remind each other and strive to be the best . Not to mention , our discussion every week is very interesting and helpful . For example , listening to the hadith and its explaination or One verse from Al quran and its tafseer .
