         <description><![CDATA[<div>Statistics: Immigration has doubled in the last 50 years with women being a moiety of total migrants. Effect on the Immigrants: a lot of pressure to earn a living and assimilate into the foreign culture. Why Immigrate: Economic immigrants-looking for a job; globalization has taken a large toll on developing countries which in affect has brought many into deeper poverty-looking for way out; war or persecution, especially from their government; this persecution could be due to their race, religious beliefs, or political view. Effects: (positive) Beneficial to host country mainly economically as their hosts are usually industrialized countries; (negative) Hurts reputation of successful immigrants when some others bring crime into the host country. Immigration in US, UK, media, Europe. Economics and poverty of immigration. </div>]]></description>
