Quinn was someone who witnessed first hand what was going on, and he didn't say anything about how wrong it was. He soon realized it was wrong, and helped out the victim. He ignored it at first but then snapped to reality. Helping to victim instead of the oppressor. I think that if you don't do the right thing it means you are ok with something being wrong. That's not okay, and there has to be some sense of justice.

"Our silence is another kind of violence." I think this message is saying that staying silent implies that you don't care enough to step in and say something. I definitely believe this is true. If people had the courage to stand up and not stay silent, so many lives could be saved. I think this also applies to the characters in the novel, specifically Quinn, who remained silent at the beginning, but after realizing how staying silent was supporting the oppressor, he decided to stand up and say something.

Won't be silenced"
To me it means that the people are pretty much saying they will not just ignore this and let it go away and that they will protest and fight for the right thing. To the characters it might mean that they will not be quite about this and will do whatever it takes to be heard.

Being neutral in the situation of injustice to me means that if you know something is wrong but don't do anything about it, you are just as bad as the oppressor. By not doing anything you have chosen that what the oppressor had done was ok, and not worthy of intervention. This relates to Quinn because even though he knew what happened to Rashad was wrong, he never spoke up about it. By not saying anything it was as if he was supporting Paul's actions and decisions.

I think the message of the quote "If you are neutral in situation of injustice,...." is that in a situation of injustice if you choose to do nothing that is the same as siding with the oppressor. To me it means that doing nothing is the same as choosing the oppressors side of the argument. I think Quinn began to understand this after Jill began to explain it and then the message made him want to go through with protesting
