Kurt is technically my brother-in-law, but as our dependent, I consider him more of a little brother or an adopted son. He suffered a traumatic brain injury at the age of 13, and has been a fighter for the past 27 years. Our day to day life is ever changing between care at home, and spending time in the ICU. When he is home, we enjoy reading books like Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I use the word "reading", but he more so enjoys when I am animated and acting out the silly parts. We also enjoy playing pranks on his nurses and brother! Finley opened up a new world for me during COVID. She began as my medical foster dog following her amputation. We quickly bonded throughout her recovery process and adopted her shortly after. Ever since Finley has entered my life, her and I have fostered and rehabilitated other amputee dogs.
