General Information The long neck, long yellow legs, and massive gray-blue bill of the caracara make its appearance unique among the raptors. About 58 cm in length, the crested caracara has a white head and throat, white wing tips, and white tail contrasting with a dark body, red face, and signature black crest.

The species historical range included Arizona, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, Texas.

I chose that video because, it is a daily question that most of us do. we can see history about how the pandemic was in the past too. Since the year 1980 there have been dieseases that emerged a global pandemic like the HIV and swine FLU in the year 2009. It is normal to get infecting by the animals and infecting another human and make it an interntional boundaries, and infect a lot of ones. scientists states there are so many viruses around that it is not disvered yet. Also, It was interesting how there are many probabilities that we can have another pandemic in the future, but we have also a lot of health measures to provide care to us and our family such as social distancing, early warning systems, wearing mask, and hand sanitizing.We can reduce the risk, but we most to be aware and become self-defendat. 

 Historical accounts of crested caracaras show an association with prairie-type habitats in central and southern Florida. Early records from the 19^th century are anecdotal and spotty but suggest that caracaras inhabited a larger area in the state than at present. The first specimen collected by Audubon was from Saint Augustine, which is outside of the current range. Dry prairie habitat has been largely converted to citrus, sugar, and cattle ranching uses. Despite reduction in native prairie habitat, caracaras have persisted and are now largely found breeding and foraging in improved pastures that have been planted with non-native or exotic grasses for cattle to eat. 

Widespread in the American tropics, Audubon's crested caracara is found throughout south-central Florida, and also occurs in Texas, Arkansas, Mexico, Cuba and Panama.  'Caracara' comes from a South American Indian name, based on the bird's call.

Lives in a wide variety of semi-open habitats offering open ground for hunting and dense cover for nesting. In our area these include wet prairies of Florida.

What I like from this video on how nature gets its rhythms, it is all about how the dead material when plants die, enriches the soil with a stable mass providing moisture and nutrients for more plants grow, because more plants grow and die the more humus is producing to have more and so on, that was interesting positive feedback and how the essential force make the ecosystem build.

What was I feeling when I started this class? My first impression starting this class was scared to see that we were starting to see topics that I did not remember. Taking quizzes and writing at a set time. I was not used to taking that kind of class online were a challenge to me, but I was happy to see how my classes would improve my knowledge. When I started my classes, I was nervous.  

How was my experience during the classes? I would like to say that the teacher was very patient and explained everything in terms of making his students understand and have time to carry out their activities in class. The way he conducts his classes is an excellente way that his students staying active and learning all the time we are attending the biology class. The way we were doing the classes was removing my fear and I was learning much more about this subject. 

 What did I learn from this class? I learned the beauty of how important everything around us is. How we can change the future of our nature and what is happening with it. The classes were interesting and very contructive. Making us aware and knowing issues that are important to our society such as global warming. I am feeling happy to attend this class and learn a lot about biology.
