When people learned the impact that opium poppy had demand increased. Opium is known to be a great pain reliever. It is said that opium poppy was also used to induce sleep and help with bowel movements. People also took in to consideration the side effect of this chemical, it gave pleasurable effects. Opium poppy has some derivatives, including morphine, codeine, oxycodone, and heroin. I choose this chemical because I have patients that i care for that use some of these prescribed medicines. I have seen what they go through, pain wise.
