Assistive Technology is any thing or service which helps a student with a disability access education. We all use some sort of assistive technology in our daily lives, the key difference in this situation is to determine what helps (if any) the student needs so that they can achieve FAPE. I think the definition is broad so that 'no child gets left behind' and there can be no excuse for not considering the student's need in conjunction with the plethora of AT devices and services available.
