Her dress resembles cracks and how our earth is drying out. Her hair resembles fire to get the concept of “warming.. I love drawing villains so I wanted to portray how global warming is bad. I also made her curvy to resemble a triangle! Because villains in cartoons are usually triangular!

My character is based off the pink tax and those affected by it. I wanted the character to look weighed down by the tax so I made her kneeling and also holding money bags that represent the weight felt from having to spend more for something designed for women. I described it as old because the tax has been around for a long time and gave her wrinkles to showcase that same outdated-ness. She's wearing a dress, heels, perfect hair and a smile in order to express that women are expected to look and act that way or "feminine" despite the inequalities pushed on them. I would have used different colors if I could have, that's why she's so orange and yellow but that wasn't intentional.

The image is of a whale made from space. I first started with the close up of the whale and the galaxies and nebulas so I could figure out how I’d end up drawing them.

Its characteristics including things such as galaxies and nebulas being present and each little dot is meant to symbolize a small star. The larger star shaped objects are also meant be to stars and it was inspired by an art piece I drew as a kid which was a whale constellation. The eye of the whale is supposed to be the helix nebula because of its eye-like shape. During the close-up I couldn’t get it quite right and it always turned out made so I just labeled it there and when I got to the bigger picture I downsized and removed some of the details and then it turned out more neutral.

The whale stands to symbolize that creatures like whales are gorgeous and magnificent creatures and are as beautiful as our own universe. Whaling still remains a problem and threatens blue whales and many other whale species. I’ve always hated whaling since I was a kid so I really liked whales and that’s the symbolism behind this drawing.

Voter Inequality

My character is based on voter inequality, using different aspects of voting, such as a voter sticker, ballot box, politicians, swing states, and more. I wanted my character to be more of inequality and less of just voting, that is one thing I wish to improve.

I chose to do SDG #7 (clean energy). My first design was a lightbulb design, signifying that renewable energy is being used. I put a face on the base design to make it more characteristic. I took the face off on the second design, added legs, and added a shine. In the last design, I put the face back on and added arms.

My second design was a solar-like panel. My base design for the solar panel was just basically a box. In the second design, I added arms, legs, and a face to make it more characteristic. In the last design of the solar panel, I added a solar panel design and a face motion that absorbs the sunlight.

The topic I chose for my design is the Avian Flu. For my design I decided to go with a simple goose as they are one of the most susceptible birds to the illness. I also knew beforehand I would want to add aspects to the design showcasing how the bird would be sick, so I wanted the base to be pretty simple so as to not overcrowd the design. I based the bird’s personality around the illness as well, which is why he is seen being sluggish. While planning out the coloring stage I decided to use a map of the spread of the virus as a reference for his blanket. Of course I didn’t want to draw out all the continents as it would make it harder to replicate the character, so I simplified it into some simple shapes and turned them into patches as a nod to the growing prices of eggs and how unaffordable they are becoming. At first when I was mapping out the pose I planned on making a more realistic looking goose however that later changed due to wanting to go for a more cuter design. I prefer more pastel and light line work which can be seen in the center sketch along with the colors I picked out. Here is what each code means: BO- Booger, F/B- Feet and Beak, B- Blanket, and IP- Ice Pack.

SDG 10

I did SDG 10, reducing inequalities, and in my drawings I tried to do kinda 2 sides to represent inequalities. I kinda had a hard time when figuring out how to draw the inequalities, so I did education, school inequalities and then made one with appearance differences.

My character theme was based on water pollution. I tried making a little but noticeable detail relating to plastic, fish, and how pollution is really affecting the ocean. There’s a trash can on her head and plastic/trash in her hair to represent how pollution is making the ocean dirty. Her tail has a fishing net and seaweed wrapped around it to symbolize more of what water pollution is affecting. It can affect the fish in the water, making them not safe to eat when fishers catch them, it also destroys sea life habitats and plants located in the sea.

I created a character based off my SDG 10. For SDG 10, I have been doing Inequalities with learning disabilities and getting help. This is supposed to represent what not being able to get help with your learning disabilities feels like. The eye with words jumbled and falling represents how it feels reading with dyslexia, then the bareness and the flowy dress represents playfulness and cheer as its tearing away and losing color. The character is hunched.

Some of the main comments on my piece were to make the hands the goal of the character and to make her more slouched or weighed down from the back. So I changed the money bags from being in the hands to on her back and then having her hands breaking the sign because it's the goal of the character to get rid of the tax
