Today, the first day of PDC session and I see what the PDC is.What is the difference between PDC and training? And also what is difference between trainer and facilitator?Pdc isn’t a training activity. It allows teachers sharing their experiences and techniques with attendee.
Action bound and kahoot will be useful for my classrooms. But it seems that it isnt possible to apply action bound for crowded classrooms. If possible,I am sure that students will enjoy more.
I think my colleagues have been interested in learning new techniques and sharing their experiences.
Lack of motivation is the important challneges for my colleagues,I only worry about this.I can solve this problem by making the process of PDC joyfull and energetic.
To sum up,Today is the day of meeting PDC and its compounds.

I think course Books make it easier to use the listening material and pre listening, while listening and post listening activities.

I think authentic listening materials and also supplementary marerials would be in right level.

Listening popular songs can be an active listening skill. We can use gap fill form of question type.
Active listening is the most important type of listening.I feel that, active listening will make my students more energetic and eager students to get involved to process.Modfying task will be useful for my classroom activities.By the way,I was impressed when I experienced “class memory quiz” and “ someone who”useful activities. They can be applied in every level classrooms.

Day-3 Speaking Session

I think the most useful idea about speaking is flipgrid. Before the students begin speaking I can give them the meaning of the words related to topic.I use find someone who activity. And while the students are speaking I can observe them and take notes about content and their accuracy, intonation etc. And after the students have done the speaking activity they can show their videos to the all class and I can listen again and check again their speaking.Web 2 tools are really important for speaking.Chatterpix,Voki,Animato these are useful web 2 tools in speaking activities.
These kinds of activities make students more active and talkative in speaking. It is also more useful for shy students.I feel that, technological equipments as web 2 tools make more active speaking classes.
Disadvantage of these activities is that crowded classes have diffuculty to apply but I can organize students as groups or pairs according to their levels,I can solve the problem.

Exemplifying process, product and snack writing with appropriate tasks/ activities to ensure my colleagues can differentiate between different types of writing.
Today, we discussed our ideas about writing part of English teaching. we focused on differentiating and digitalizing writing tasks.
we wrote short paragraphs on padlet. Both of these two steps were fun and useful for our courses. As we do it every day, we again presented activities for our colleagues to explain how they can use appropriate tasks for differing purpose. Even if I have low/no tech situations in my school, I will try to use these activities because we analyzed how to integrate different tasks into our courses.
Product and snack writing are better for the participants because they can make revisions any time they want,so they feel themselves secure.
My colleagues would be interested in writing in PDC meeting because some attendee can express themselves easily in writing. So it is an efficient way of conveying themselves.

Grammar Session

Today, we saw how to teach grammar and vocabulary. We discussed teaching grammar in a traditional way and modern way. We agreed that we could use both of these methods. I realized that instead of giving it directly, it would be better in my lessons if I explain grammar rules through examples. To establish a connection between the meaning and form, we can use controlled, guided or freer activities. In a PDC meeting, our colleagues would want to discuss if grammar should be taught explicitly or implicitly. In my opinion, doing it implicitly would help our students to find some grammar points by themselves and they can internalize these rules better.

Assesment

Second reflection question is about self/peer assessment and it may help solve the problem about the number of students in classes.By this way, the students can do a self-assessment at first and then peer assessment can be used. In the end, the teacher does the final assessment and it would be easier for teachers as some assessment/correction/feedback were done beforehand.
When it comes to third question,We always complain about our students and their unwillingness to learn English. By being part of a Professional Development Community, we will have chance to change this situation. this is the best advantage. In this programme here, I have met with great teachers/trainers and I’m sure that when I plan a PDC meeting, I will ask their opinions as well. Moreover, I have met with some teachers from my area. When I go back to my city, I will keep my contact with them and we will try to help each other. We have done many different activities and tasks in our PDC sessions and we have discussed every possible problem that we can face with. So, when we plan and conduct PDCs, we will absolutely overcome if a problem occurs.
