For instance, winter arrives in Maycomb for the first time in decades, which the Rosetta Stone says to be caused by children’s disobedience to their parents, and previous to this winter, Jem and Scout directly disobeyed their father’s orders to not provoke Boo Radley, indicating that they are responsible for the onset of winter in Maycomb. Moreover, the arrival of winter also brings about Mrs. Radley’s death, and Mrs. Maudie fears that snow will kill her plants, showing that the children's actions led to misfortune for Maycomb.
