The argumentative essay was about the issue on how students or whoever shouldn't neccesarily go to college unless they have that desire to learn. Although college may not be for everyone in financial terms, it should still be for those who are eager to learn and bettering their lives. However this is only true for those students who go to college with a “hungry heart”. You can't teach someone to have a hungry heart, but it should be a natural occurance within yourself.

The essay covers the argument that in education having a hungry heart will get you far. The author says that anyone can have a hungry heart if they want it, but if they do not want it then they just will not have it. The author uses the example that his friend had a hungry heart when they were in highschool, but as he got to college he sort of gave up. This examples shows that having a hungry hearts is not something you are born with, but simply something that you can obtain if you want to.
