His artwork represents a projector that is projecting high intensity light from one corner of a room to another. The light casted a sharply outlined geometric three dimensional rectangle. His variation of the color green offers volume and illusion that makes the rectangle stand out. I chose this piece of artwork to be a part of my exhibit because of the distance portrayed between the corner with the vibrant green rectangle and the dark corner in which this picture is taken. This picture demonstrates that in life people tend to stay contained to what they are familiar with rather than venturing out. In "The Proper Place For Sports," by Theodore Roosevelt he exclaimed how new opportunities will arise once an athletes sports career is over. Some people let sports consume them which limits them from other doors that may open within their lives. Kandinsky used oil on canvas to provide a variety of dark colors in order to feel vibrations from this structure. There is a large contrast between the black oil paint that is painted onto the white paper. The black parallel diagonal lines are overlapping like a waffle to connect each of the colors and shapes. I chose this piece of artwork because it looks very chaotic and full of conflict. The lines between the colors are intersecting one another multiple times rather than meeting one another in the middle. This artwork relates to the stimulus material "The Sporting Spirit."  Athletes are all trying to be the best and are doing whatever it takes to achieve their ultimate goal of being accepted by today's society. This results in kids fighting against each other rather than working together. Even players on the same team look at their teammates as competition. During the course of The Civil War many artists made art focused around a promising future for America. In this painting Homer illustrated a memory from when he was a young boy during the war. At school he and his classmates played a game called "snap the whip." In this game kids experienced teamwork, strength, and calculation. These skills were taught to kids through an activity to teach kids how to unite rather than tear each other down. I chose this piece of media to demonstrate how sports can be used as a way to unite people. Sports should be focused on teamwork rather than winning and losing. This image helps represent how high school athletes can unite with one another and avoid war. The simple background of  green grass and a cloudy blue sky help focus in on the kids uniting by holding hands. The leaps of the kids show happiness. His poem claims how people have the urge to be good and happy, but there is always something that gets in the way of that. The stars all portray people he misses in his life that have been taken away from him. Although days may start in the darkness, there is light that is still yet to come. When said, "but spring shall come to my stars after winters' delay, greening the turf over the graves" it expresses how challenges are faced in order to face victory. I chose this poem to be included in my exhibit since people are unsure of their futures and what there life has in store for them. Athletes tend to experience deep sorrow when they are cut from a team or didn't have the results they were looking for. After all there will always be light, but sometimes you have to lose something along the way. Depending on which side of the sculpture you are standing, you will see one word or the other. In society love and hate are closely linked. The creator made this sculpture in a way that would make the two words a reflection of one another. I chose this sculpture to be a part of my exhibit because it is so easy to turn love into hate when people are fighting for the same thing. When people are all focused on winning and being the best, they form hatred and disgust between one another. Love and hate are opposites of one another. People have grown confused as they let their minds direct them into feelings of speechlessness and loneliness. People are so ego driven and focused on everything in life that they want. Unfortunately, that is not how our society works. When people can't reach what they want, they lose hope. What people want however does not grant happiness. People tend to isolate themselves from the various opportunities in life that may arise. In this painting the man is sad and leaning away from the light. The bird in the cage represents isolation from the world. This connects to my PP2 because people are extremely sports driven that they let other life accomplishments push to the side. Our lives can exist outside of a box. The dark background brings central focus to the skeleton smoking a cigarette. This painting illustrates the smoking can lead to death which is represented by a skeleton. I chose this illustration to be a part of my exhibit because of temptations in sports. As an athlete, if everyone wants to be the best. Drugs and other substances become frequently used by athletes when all they care about is winning. In a study done by athletes from Johannesburg boys high schools, the participants were provided with various questions regarding their ethical beliefs on performance enhancing drugs. When athletes were asked, “Are you aware of the punishment for using prohibited substances in sports?,” 53% of the students responded saying yes. When later asked, “Should the sale of prohibited substances be banned?,” 99% of students said no (Gradidge). He wanted to prove that a horse lifts all four hooves when in the air. They are so fast that only a picture can spot it. I chose this photograph because us as humans tend to make judgments without taking a closer look first. If we were to look at things with an open mind, people wouldn't be selective on who is good enough. Society has turned sports into a form of acceptance. People doubted the horses ability until there was proof that the horse could actually jump will all four hooves in the air. The black lines show direction as they are parallel to one another. The direction of this image remains unknown since the image is spun in different directions. I chose this image because of the stair structure that is shown in all different directions.  Along with the black lines on the grey background, there are black and white shadows. You can see the stair-like structure poking through the shadows. The black shadow incorporates a lot of black detail which adds focus to the photograph. Sculptures were reconstructed from discarded ceramic scraps into masterpieces. Broken pottery pieces are repaired with gold. The broken pieces represent imperfections  and brittleness of humans. Every sculpture is unique with different cracks. However, there is not one sculpture that is perfect. I chose this piece of media to be a part of my exhibit because no individual is perfect. With that saying, every athlete can improve more. Society tells us that there are people that are perfect. This information is false but misleading. Mansell was not in favor of Napoleon and wanted to run him out by making a political cartoon against him. In this cartoon, Napoleon is abusing his power forcing his workers into clothes and roles they aren't comfortable with. The man's stiff arms show how unnatural he feels and his face reflects tenseness. I chose this political cartoon to be added to my exhibit because people who are displayed as higher status abuse their power. In sports, athletes want to be the ones always winning while the other team is being humiliated.
