It was a good way of getting back into photography and understanding the location and set up I would be situated in.

Negatives:

The images needed quite heavy editing and post-production processing to get it looking good enough to use.

Areas to research and improve upon:

Working with natural lighting and image composition.

Understanding file size and type.

Images came out clearer and brighter.

Negatives:

The images were of high quality, but at times were a bit underexposed or over coloured.

Areas to research and improve upon:

Editing photos, colour correction and file management.

This was a good experience in having a more hands-on role in photographing in public settings and it taught me a lot about finding moments that look good being photographed

Negatives:

The images from this evening needed heavy post-production processing as the location had extremely low lighting and yellow lighting.

Areas to research and improve upon:

Looking into photographing in low-light scenarios. Understanding post production photography workflows.

More product photography and a return to form. Lighting was good and helped capture the atmosphere of the cafe well.

Negatives:

The images captured were not used in marketing, however, they may end up being used as they were general enough to allow it to be.

Where to go from here:

When back in Lincoln, I will be looking into other avenues to work on and attempt to expand my broader understanding of producing creative work in an industry setting.

Conducted ourselves professionally and recorded to a high standard.

We were underprepared as we had not had much notice before the event

Areas to research and improve upon:

Planning beforehand and using our experience to inform the equipment we will be using next time.

We were more prepared and had almost enough equipment for our coverage of the session to be sufficient

Negatives:

We were a few lavs short of being able to capture every speaker on lav mics so the audio may need improving upon at a later time.

Areas to research and improve upon:

Having as much equipment as possible to ensure we get the fullest coverage of an event.

We had enough equipment to cover the event and any speakers. I managed to get us an assistant on the day.

Negatives:

Unfortunately, allowing my assistant to help with the recording ended with us having one less channel of recorded audio.

We were also not very prepared in recording live musical performances.

Areas to research and improve upon:

Delegating work and further research into what is best for recording live music.

Planning with project coordinators for future events. The audio came out well recorded and every speaker on the day was laved.

Nothing too major.

Understanding how coordinate three sound teams in a live recording session/public event.

We managed to have enough equipment, lightweight setups and planning for the event to be covered completely and effectively.

Negatives:

I would have liked to listen over all recordings following the event to determine the overall quality of everyone's work, including my own.

Areas to research and improve upon:

File management of recorded audio.

The images I captured on these days were of high quality and stand on their own with a unique style without corrections necessarily being needed.

Negatives:

Would have liked to have done minor adjustments of the images captured on both days.

Final Output Notes:

What I have been working towards is a high standard of photography work using natural lighting, and with this final output, these images have achieved the goal I have set. Additionally, the skills and knowledge I have picked up on has now prepared me more to fulfil this role in a professional capacity.
