Personally, I would side with Cars 2. More characters were added, having some unique characteristics, like Francesco Bernoulli. You also get to see some of the original characters, seeing where they came from, and help out the main character(s). The movie making me laugh more than any of the other ones is a plus. It is the funniest movie out of the franchise.
