         <description><![CDATA[<div>A new concept to the BEST standards is having the student compose and decompose a number in more than one way. Mrs. Croley made paper manipulatives so that her students could fully understand a “hundred flat” is also 10 tens. When students see a “hundred flat” they struggle to also understand it is 10 tens. These printed place value blocks were printed large “life size” which made it more engaging for the students. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ms Hancock put a “number scoot” around the classroom. The student selected one card from the room. They glued their number in their math journal and had to write the number in multiple ways. This was a great formative check for the teacher and an engaging lesson that got the students up and moving. </div>]]></description>

Then you stick out 2 fingers to represent a 2 in the ones place. 1-4 will keep the balloon down to the nearest ten. When you get to 5 the balloon goes UP and represents rounding UP to the nearest ten.</div>]]></description>
