Collect long piece of pine wood and drawn a line down measuring 175cm.

Once measured, you proceed to the shooting board with ur Tennant Saw and begin cutting a vertical line down the measured piece of wood.

Once completed, you measure out precise measurements horizontally of 5mm, 15mm, 20mm, 15mm.

Once you have all the measurements lined out, you proceed to the pillar drill and equip yourself with safety goggles.

The instructor will instruct us on how to carefully drill the wood.

When drilling, you should drill a mm away from the marked lines

once you have cut all the empty pieces you should return to the extra mm line and drill that out

Then you progress onto the other side and repeat the same thing until you can fit your fingers through the hole.

You take your wooden block over to your work station where you had previously clamped your shooting board to the edge of the table.

you armour yourselfs with a shooting plane and place your wooden block and the edge of the hook.

You proceed to roughly control the shooting plane and progressively move the plane smoothing the wooden block.

measure the hole to be placed in the centre of the connected plank so we can place the brass.

we use the pillar drill to drill the hole, once the hole is drilled we need to measure the brass so it can fit in the hole without too much excess to file down.

the brass measurement is 22mm and this needs to be cut by using the junior hack saw.

so we need to get a bench hook, metal rule, and a brass.

Equip yourself with a fat block with sandpaper wrapped around .

Begin smooting out your block ensuring it is smooth all over.

Smooth out for approximately 10-12 mins until your sure your block is smooth.

Smooth out every part of the block making sure every crevise is touched

Equip yourself with gloves and head to the back of the class.

Start to apply gentle amounts of varnish all around the wood until your comfortable.

If too much is applied then with a cloth gently rub some off

Once the varnish is applied you let it dry and your work has been completed
